45 years ago today JFK's motorcade turned into Elm Street and on to Dealy Plaza at a few minutes beofer 12.30pm CST, Friday 22nd November 1963 (I always wanted to be a newscaster).

Was this the moment that the age of post war western innocence, and more particularly, trust and faith in democratic governments being true, decent and honest began it's slow ebb?

Well, probably not.

But more to the point.....it sprang a host of conspiracy theories relating to the CIA, the Mafia, Oswald and Wookiegirl who has still not explained her whereabouts for the day.

So what's your favourite conspiracy theory? (that was a long way of asking)

Mine is the "Paul McCartney is dead" one.

Lovely

The McCartney one was good! I remember it, searching for all the clues on the Beatle album covers and in the lyrics. :D

One of my favourites is that astronauts never landed on the moon, that it was all staged.

Was The Apollo Moon Landing Fake?

if it was fake it was a damn huge conspiracy

you would think though that with all the telescopes , including the Hubbell that there would be pictures of the Eagle which should still be intact on the moon. never have seen one though

Scientists work on a principle exactly like that of any entrepreneur. They weigh the investment against the potential return. In your scenario they would be investing a lot of very expensive time aiming Hubble at the moon when the chance of proving the conspiracy is infintessimally small. Telescpoes are in extremely high demand and getting just a few minutes on one takes a very long time and you can't just ask to use it. If you or I asked we would be thouroughly laughed at before being shown the door and scolded for wasting their valuable time.

I don't think the moon landing was a conspiracy but I know lotsa people who do.

what I find fascinating about these theories as that when it's too close in years to the event, anyone who says it's a conspiracy wears tinfoil hats...but as time goes on people open their minds and see the theory may not be quite so out there. Like JFK - people thought that Jim Garrison was insane at first...now everyone more commonly accepts the conspiracy theory as opposed to the Warren report......

i'm just sayin :D

The American Bloodline

Did you know all 43 U.S. presidents have carried European royal bloodlines into office? 34 have been genetic descendants from just one person, Charlemagne, the brutal eighth century King of the Franks. 19 of them directly descended from King Edward III of England. In fact, the presidential candidate with the most royal genes has won every single American election.

“This information comes from Burke's Peerage, which is the Bible of aristocratic genealogy, based in London. Every presidential election in America, since and including George Washington in 1789 to Bill Clinton, has been won by the candidate with the most British and French royal genes. Of the 42 presidents to Clinton, 33 have been related to two people: Alfred the Great, King of England, and Charlemagne, the most famous monarch of France. So it goes on: 19 of them are related to England's Edward III, who has 2000 blood connections to Prince Charles. The same goes with the banking families in America. George Bush and Barbara Bush are from the same bloodline - the Pierce bloodline, which changed its name from Percy, when it crossed the Atlantic. Percy is one of the aristocratic families of Britain, to this day. They were involved in the Gunpowder Plot to blow up Parliament at the time of Guy Fawkes” -Researcher/Author David Icke, “Alice in Wonderland and the World Trade Center”

Taken from the Altantean Conspiracy. You can read much more about it on there.

And all because of a cinematic work of fiction.

I'll add that the JFK conspiracy theory is my favorite. I don't buy into it at all, but I find it the most interesting.
so you buy the Warren Commission Report instead?
and the magic bullet?

The only magic bullet I got doesn't come close to pulling the miracles that they want us to believe :24:

Another good conspiracy theory: Area 51 and the idea that the government is hiding the "facts" about alien landings on earth.

Yep, my grandfather worked in A51 for a few years on the SR-71 project... back in the 60's or 70's I believe. He couldn't talk about it until 3 years ago when it was finally declassified. ;)

Oh, and you can see A51 on google maps too.

The only magic bullet I got doesn't come close to pulling the miracles that they want us to believe :24:

The "magic bullet theory" didn't exist until Oliver Stone made it up and put it in a movie. The Warren Comission report included no magic bullet theory. The trajectory of the bullet was a straight line from the rifle, through JFKs throat, and into Conelley's back, made no turns, etc. This has been proven as fact.

A few more lies (or dramatic license if you prefer) from the movie:

JFK was over 200 yards away from Oswald when shot.
In truth, he was only 88 yards away.

Oswald wasn't that great of a marksman.
In truth, he was an excellent military marksman regularly scoring near perfect during sharpshooting excercises.

The scope on Oswalds rifle was broken.
Total falsehood. All components of Oswald's rifle were in proper working order.

The shot to JFK's head had to have come from the front.
It's been clear from the beginning that the entry wound was in the back of the head and the bullet exited from the front. This shot was also in direct line with Oswald's position.

The magic bullet theory has been around since the 60's. It was not something that Stone conjured up. Until last year it never was proven feasible. But it was spoken of as soon as the Warren Report came out.

don't recall the 200 yds but based on looking at film countless times I think 88 yds might be a bit shy.

he made marksman. which is the bottom of the rung. He was a capable shooter but not in the top of the class.

never heard the scope was broken.

massive damage to the back of the skull. I thought exit wounds were larger than entry wounds.
