For what? I certainly hope the CIA can hold information "secret".

I firmly believe that they should be able to keep secrets... but this is different, these tapes never needed to see the light of day, they could have stayed in the judges chambers for all I care... but it is illegal to destroy evidence when a judge has ordered you to keep it.

You can't just get rid of something because it would show you doing something illegal...
