I guess this is where I am lucky. I have such a good relationship with my ex that we have never been to court. We split everything with our son. I don't pay her and she doesn't pay me. I pay for a month of his school and she pays the next. We both buy him clothes and tbwy go back and fourth. There is no fighting over ( I bought this. I want it at my place ). Like i said i am lucky I guess.

We have the same arrangement between me and my ex..

I know some guys who tried to push me to go to court, then their wives left them, and they went to court got clean out and now cry the blues..

The best part is my kids have a much better environment seeing us get along.

I have some thoughts on child support. I don't know if this is nationwide, but down here, if you fall behind the state takes your driver's license. I don't quite get that reasoning because if you lose your license it makes it rather difficult to work to earn more money.

I also think guidelines should be changed. I have a girlfriend who got divorced from her wealthy husband. He moved on and decided she didn't need the lifestyle her and their sons had grown accustomed to. So he started moving his assets into his parents name among other places. At one of the hearings, he started poor-mouthing the Judge yet again. She looked at him and asked if that was his Rolex on his wrist? :24: Dipshit forgot to take it off. Also, is that your 'Cedes in the parking lot? He lost his appeal. But not all Judges are on the ball.

I too think that if a woman receives a lump-sum of back-support it should be put into a trust for the kids. Not just blown like she won the mini-lottery and only giving a token amount to the kids. A big enough lump sum could enable said kids to enroll in college or what-have-you down the road. Way more important than a new car or a shiny new bauble.

Tom & Francis, you two are lucky. Too bad all failed relationships can't be as amicable. It is indeed better for the kids.

I've seen a lot of men get fucked over by cs expetations, and I've seen a lot of women and children get fucked over by deadbeat dads. It's a shame, there's rarely any winning in broken families. These situations are too complicated to judge.

I agree with this. No two cases are the same so it's difficult to give a firm answer one way or the other on it.

Yeah, you're spot on there Peter but unfortunately some people are assholes and can't put their own petty issues aside and do what's in their childs best interest when they split up :/

cash payments are stupid
because you cant prove in court you made a cash payment but at least if you wrote and check and had it on your books you could show something and you will also
be able to remember when and how much you have payed if anyone questions your actions of not paying
but in the us you can get a job and get taged with automatic withdrawal from your paycheck and then quit that job and get another one just so your not having a draft from your check
and then go to court and get a draft on your check and do it over and over or work at a job that pays cash and hide like the illegal aliens

My family tried to get me to go to court. But why? They said i abolish start paying her child support. But our thing is we split everything so it is pointless. We both make the same amount of money. She pays a mortgage on her house and i am a renter. I pay as much as she does to put a roof over our sons head. I love my arrangement. I work nights but I still see my son everyday.
