i'm happy with just a cell phone and a lap top for my communications needs. i don't like those itty-bitty keyboards. i paid a lot of dues to be able to type reasonably fast with both hands and not look at the keyboard.

i like that bigger screen for multi-tasking, too. i especially like the tabbed browsing and being able to move media files around easily that you can't do so well with a smartphone.

My iPhone is infinitely more convenient than my laptop would be for on the go web browsing... plus I talk via text all the time, which I couldn't do with my laptop. ;)

i just make calls -- no texting. i do a lot of this kind of communicating on the internet and i can't deal with a phone keypad. it would take me 15 minutes to do this much on one that takes less than a minute on a full size board if i don't have to stop and think about what i'm typing.

I got this one:

I hate texting. It is a pain in the ass. Just pick up the damn phone and talk

Got a regular phone. A friend bought the Iphone and I told him it would be a waste. He bought it 3 months ago and still has not figured it out.

I can not justify the extra expense to have one of them. A plain old phone does all I need

I have a Nokia E63. It's my "old" phone because a couple of months ago I bought this one:

But it turned out to be so shit. So, I went back to my old phone. The touch screen on the above one is horrendous. The only good thing is the camera and some little arty features on it. I definitely love my phone's QWERTY keyboard on my Nokia.

Up until recently I have resisted the smartphone craze. I had an enV2 and that was about as fancy as I cared about getting. I love the full keyboard on phones and was looking for another phone w/ a full QWERTY keyboard that didn't SLIDE out (I absolutely HATE that) after I dropped my enV2 in the toilet. I ended up going w/ the LG Vortex which has the Android operating system on it. Apparently it's a good starter phone for those of us new to smartphones, but it took me almost a week to figure out how to add a contact, LOL

Why do you hate it?

Because the battery life is, on average, less than ten hours with regular use. It freezes up a lot, and it runs REALLY slow switching from apps a lot of the time.

Also, AT&T's network seems to be getting worse and worse. I know a phone won't load pages and do things as fast as a computer, but when loading a simple webpage takes upwards of five minutes and I'm trying to find info on the fly, it's incredibly frustrating. It's spotty at best. I just am really disappointed with the quality of the phone. I dropped it ONCE from ~waist height (so 3ft off the ground) and the vibrate mode doesn't work anymore. My phone is never on vibrate mode. So my phone goes off in class and in situations where it shouldn't, unless I turn off the sound for my text messages completely in the settings. (Granted, it took some minor abuse before that, but not enough to cause ONE drop to make that function completely not work.) If the phone freezes, there's no way of taking out the battery and doing that manual reset on the phone. And the button on the top of the phone is half stuck IN the phone now, so it doesn't work too well either.

Let's just say I have a few complaints. :p
