Great choice of camera PD- good luck with it. I'll enjoy playing around with it if you have it by the time I visit.

On the full frame side, if I could afford a full frame right now - it wouldn't be the A850 or the A900, I would get the Nikon D3S. It's not all about megapixels as Janie rightly said somewhere else and that is one amazing camera. It's a pity it's just so... pricey :p

Of course, should Sony produce a full frame that is as capable as the D3S - then naturally, I'd be inclined towards the Sony :p

Video and stuff is nice - but the camera's photo abilities is always my primary thing

what's the advantage of having a full frame camera over not? :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

You said so yourself though :"The photographer makes the camera, not the other way around" :D
Better s/n ratio i.e. higher the ISO, the less noise

Guyzerr, if I say my camera is crap and I need a new lens, it's because I finally do know what I am talking about and have had the chance to compare my camera to a few others.
It is not because I do not know how to use my camera or my settings.

I apologize if my blond moments and my quests for help make me appear ignorant. Believe me it makes me hesitant to ask for advice on this board. Not all of us can go out and buy expensive lenses and cameras and pop! have a wonderful picture.

If your that insistent about it being the fault of a shitty camera then send it in while it's still under warranty. Like I said before, you could have a faulty sensor or who knows what.

With reference to asking for advice..... if you were to post on a dedicated photography site the advice would be a hell of a lot rougher. What you're getting here is tame in comparison. The problem is you don't want to accept the advice because you want us to point the finger at the camera and so far none of us have done that. Your Nikon dedicated instructor has you so brainwashed it wouldn't matter what we said.

Janie it isn't just the expensive bodies and lens alone that make the shot. Ian still uses and Tuffy used the 400D. They each in their own right take some damn sweet shots. That camera body has a lot less to offer than yours and it came out years ago. Explain that to me.

I still use my 400D :D I think, I will show one day what I took in late October with a 400D I think even Ian will be impressed a lot :24:

No way you're gonna lay a hand on my camera.....you might run away with it, leave me your Sony and never ever come back :ninja:D

Oh that's what it is. I've been reading about higher ISOs and increase noise/increase shake of camera and more grains in pics produced.....now gotcha. Ta :)

I hope u dont mind me asking- whats the advantage of owning 2 diffent types of cameras, same brand ? Do u use both of them? :willy_nilly: :)

They both take the same lenses, and therefore can use one as a backup :thumbup And yes I do use both :)
