Why is it such a big deal a hick preacher in Florida is going to burn copies of the Koran? I mean Hillary Clinton and other railing against it. The people upset about him burning the koran seem to be the same ones who advocate burning the flag. I know I am missing something here because I have no deep feelings about it but I do remember broadcasts of Middle Easterners dancing in the streets after the planes hit the twin towers. Of course we all have experienced what happens when book burning is advocated.

Fred there are many countries around the world that don't enjoy the freedom of expression that you and I do. If the book burning went ahead they would take the position that because your government didn't stop it your government condoned it. That being the case they would unleash their terrorist activities against the US, the US Government and worst of all your citizens. I've tried to find something concrete regarding Muslim celebrations on that day and I haven't been able to do it. I'm sure some of the more radical types did celebrate though. It just makes sense.

I don't doubt for a second there were a lot of people around the world quite happy with the event, the US has made a lot of enemies around the world. Even in Britain, whilst there were no celebrations, the general consensus was one of "well, what did they expect would happen?"

Generally though, I think you'll find very few people that would applaud the killing of 3,000 innocent people, irrelevant of where they are from.
