Not really, Anita Blake is a vampire hunter/detective, Rachel Morgan is a witch/ bounty hunter/ demon, Harry Dresden is a PI wizard... I like me some urban fantasy
Plus, if I started the series, I might as well finish them

The Hollows and The Dresden files, yes, wholeheartedly. The Anita Blake series - well, it started out nicely, but then went into the deep end with lots of sex. So if you like the type of thing, sure.

Um, I'm reading The Host... because it's been on my bookshelf for 2 years and someone's bugging me to read it, haha...

About 150 pages in and the plot grabbed me a little while ago. I can't wait to see what happens
