How did y'all like the Hunger Games? I thought it was decent.
I really liked it, and originally thought it was a super original idea for a book... until my friend told me about Battle Royale...

"In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary "Battle Royale" act."
Apparently it's quite blatantly a copy-cat. For example, the "cornucopia" idea is taken almost exactly from that movie.
I still like the book a lot, it just sort of diminished my opinion of its creativity.

Oh wow, that's interesting. I didn't really think it was completely original to begin with, I thought the whole thing was similar to the gladiator games. I liked it nonetheless. I don't see myself reading the other two books though.
Just finished Hunger Games and starting on Catching Fire today. Hunger Games was decent for me, but not really amazing or stellar. I probably won't read the series again.
But you'll come see the movie with me, right?![]()
I am currently reading "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by: Bill Bryson. Highly recommended.
