Can in the Hat

no not really

I thought it was quite excellent myself. :)

Lord of the Rings is on my list too.

So is The Green Mile. I read the book long before the movie, and almost didn't see it because that always makes me like the book less. However, I did and I was fairly impressed.

I thought Gone with the Wind was done well. As was Secret Window.

I never read Gone With the Wind, only watched the movie. I've had the chance to read it, but I love the movie so much and I've always been afraid reading the book would make me not want to watch it anymore.

Book is better- you miss out on a bit, but it's not big stuff. Like, did you know Scarlett had two (or was it three) children before Bonnie?

They had to leave some out or instead of a Trilogy....it would gave been an Octology????

Same with Forrest Gump....I LOVED the movie....then read the book. They left HEAPS out, but sometimes you just have to, or it gets too long winded

Was it my imagination, or did the book have a totally different feel to it than the movie?

In all honesty, I read it years ago AFTER seeing the movie. I just remember being surprised how much more in depth the book was, and how much more he did.

Children of Men.

The movie was so good, such a great atmosphere. .It was actually far better then the book, which was quite dull to be honest.

I'd say every book adaptation as I'm not big on ready but... I'd be lying. I've already explained my disdain with Cat In the Hat and childrens stories being stretched beyond their means. If a book doesn't have enough content for 2 hours, do NOT take it upon yourself just to throw in visuals and dialogue willy nilly.
