Romance IS masculine, IMO.

I think both people need to give 100%, and that includes doing whatever you can to make the person you're with feel like the luckiest person in the world, every single day.

It doesn't have to be poetry, or flowers, or Shakespeare, though all of those are wonderful.

It could be a simple post it with the words 'I love you' written on it and left for your person to find. So many little small things you can do to make sure that you're significant other knows you appreciate them.

Making someone happy by changing your personality to what they want is an unreasonable expectation and will make you miserable because it's not in your heart of hearts what you agree with.
Peter I dont think anyone is saying you need to change your personality, when you find someone you really click with they compliment your personality

And because I do not totally disagree with Parka, here's an experience that supports what he said and answers a little of what AEF asked:

Until years back, my wife had never spent a lot of money on purses, she's just not that kind of woman, well I decided to surprise her with an alligator bag because she always thought they were pretty.

She simply couldn't believe it, she cried and cried and cried...

Now she has three different versions of that bag......All total about $5000 worth the handbags :24:

I should have let her keep buying $20 purses :24:

sometimes it becomes lop sided, though. I think a lot of women have the mindset that men are the only ones that have to do nice things, as if just being a woman means sitting back and having romance showered upon you.

definitly not the case on my end I cant speak for others though I always make it a point to do something everyday so he knows how lucky I feel to be married to him, you just never know life is way to short

Exactly... all that small stuff adds up. Makes a woman, and a man too, feel loved and adored. Mucho importante, IMO.

I agree... there are women like this.

The key is, to finding someone as willing to give as you are. When you have, don't let go.

Maybe with some women.

I know for certain in my case, my wife is so deserving of what she gets....The ideology changes a little once you have had kids, and you see the crap your wife puts up with.

To me, the passion she has for being a mother, and the effort she puts into making everyone of us in our home happy, is romantic. I know that sounds strange, but if you saw the way she looked at all of us, you'd understand.

She has sacrificed her education, her body and many many many hours of sleep to take care of our home, she's on a higher level to me than any other person on the planet

Balance is totally the key here when it comes to sweeping a woman off her feet. A woman needs to be able to feel secure when shes with her man and that he can bring it if he needs to. But I also like the side of my husband thats not afraid to hold my hand or kiss me in public. The man that will whoot and holler with the guys, go out and get all hot and sweaty doing whatever guy stuff you do, but not be afraid to come home and cuddle with us on the couch and watch a movie.
I am Lexi and I endorse this statement.

I think you can be strong and soft, and you need to know where the line is.

My wife appreciates the rugged side of me, the need to be outdoors, guns, fishing, baseball and hunting. But she also needs to know I have heart.

But not the whiney, sappy overly sensitive type, she likes the rugged heart, the masculine compassion.

Anything else is hollywood and cliche
see, i dunno wtf word defines me because, I'm not outdoorsy, I'm not a fisher, and pfft to hunting, and guns i could live without though i have no problems with them.

What defines you is the person you are. I am not saying to be a man you have to hunt, fish or do anything I listed. It's just who I happen to be, and what my wifes considers the "me-ness" and yes, I totally copped a Me and Dupree term:D
