I did this last year when in my opinion I started to get better, I will have to find the original photo to re-do the post editing of the original file

I just did this crazy more dynamic black and white conversions. I love how the clouds look more punchy

Note to everyone else: I don't mind if you say its horrible (not that I am crying about the lack of response), as long you tell me why it is horrible.

reminds me of a black and white version of the paintings the guy on PBS with the huge afro did back years ago

pics like this to me need to be in color

I feel the same as AA. Some photos lend themselves well to monotones. This one, I think would look much better in colour. It's a nice shot, though. :thumbup

Yup....I love b/w no matter the subject...

@HK It was suppose to be part of a panoramic shot that went haywire....but thanks :)

It seems like it is two pictures

The water and then the land/sky

They just don't work together for me. Maybe they are fighting for attention?

i like the clouds in b & w but i think i'd prefer the trees in colour

and is it only me that an see a skull in the clouds?

It's not too shabby. The ripples are not good though. Very few ripples look good on such water when there's wind. Of course, you can't control the wind but these kind of reflective shots look best with still water so that it reflects like a mirror.

I think if you removed the bottom half of the water it might look good actually. I think you are trying to get the reflection which is not working for me.

Like I said you could make two very good pictures out of this
