Now that is how I've always thought of things. How do we even know that our existence really exists? :nod:

I think you really don't understand religion, yes there are rules but it is not imposed on me or others. If I want to sin, that is my prerogative no one else

Historically you are incorrect. Today it depends on the country you live in and whether you are living under a theocracy or not.

As an atheist I don't think it's right to force your beliefs or more accurately non-beliefs down anybody's throat. Just because some religious people do it, doesn't mean you should. However I'm all for arguing back with people who try to push religion on you. Everybody should be allowed to believe whatever they want without getting told not to from others. All though I have to admit that at times I have been guilty of pushing atheism when I should of kept my mouth shut. Sometimes it's hard not to.

Oh gosh, please just because of few mindless people who have either used religion to cajole people into doing thing for their own purposes, doesn't mean that religion forces you or us into doing things, get an understanding of religion, proper religion before you state things that are blatantly inaccurate

Jehova's Witnesses are also terrible when it comes to forcing their religion down people's throats. The problem with religion is their isn't just one. Everybody tends to think whichever one they believe in is truly the way to go and all others are false. We can't even decide which God to believe in. For all believers in God, I say just stick to one religion. I don't have a whole lot of knowledge on this topic so I can't say much, but I do believe in a higher being.

Well said. I believe there's more than just what I see...but I think it's kind of arrogant to pretend like I know wtf is going on.

That's why I say religion is fine, as long as you keep it to yourself and the people who share your faith.
Otherwise just leave it at home.

Do you have a temper problem when it comes to people disagreeing with you about religion or do you wear blinders? I am not saying all religious people act in such a manner. In some ways organized religion today is more benign than in the past depending on where you live. Maybe you need to educated yourself on the history of the church worldwide, especially Europe, European colonies, and the Middle East for the past 1000 years.

Just to clarify, it's your position that theocracies don't push religion and it's rules down your throat?
