It kind of was a family joke because people always called me Billy which I absolutely hated.

So for a long time up til my 20's the sibs would call me Al

Can't say there was an era per se I would have liked to have been born in but I always thought my grandmother who was born in 1888 and live until she was 95 saw the most amazing changes on earth from having no electricity to landing on the moon.

Each era had its pluses and minuses so i am content with where I am at I guess

I can't imagine how the older people today are feeling about the cost of milk, gas, bread, heating fuel, etc.! I'm reeling from the costs just from the last few years or so! I'm wondering what my kids and grandkids and greatgrandkids, and so on..etc. are going to do if we don't get a handle on this stuff pretty quick! That's a whole nuther topic!

I have tried to separate people a couple of times by yelling at them. Don't know if I ever physically separated anybody in a serious fight though. I am not an imposing person. I am one who would get the shit kicked out of them.

Which bring me a story going back to the 70's. A buddy of mine had tickets to the Tigers. So he brought his sister and her girlfriend. Not a date. Just the 4 of us going to the game. After the game we went to the Lindell AC for a couple of drinks. Now this is a well know sports bar back in the day where the players would go to. So we stand in line for about 10 minutes waiting to get in when a black kid about 18 years old bumps his way to the front. Back then you could drink when 18. So here I am in line half in the bag after drinking at the game while this punk tries to go by us. I suddenly had a ton of nerve and called him out. He starts mouthing back and I started mouthing back. It came to the point of where he wanted to fight. So I said lets go back in the alley and then he can kick the shit out of me and he will have accomplished what? He backed right off. I would never try that one again.

I had nerve because those in line were white and this was the lone one black local. The only other times I tried to fight anybody were different. One time in elementary we were on recess and a guy closelined me. I knocked him to the ground. Back then I could hold my own. I got sent to the principals office. I never went. I kept waiting to get nailed on that for days. Next time was in Junior High. I went to swing at a guy at lunch hour and he nailed me on the chin. That told me my fighting days were over.


I can NOT dance. I tried back in the day with the help of booze at the local disco. :eek

Disco!?! OMG!!!! Now that is funny! And booze for sure helps! If you want every single other patron there to laugh their asses off and point at you!!!! I have seen plenty of guys dance like they were all it and they looked like stupid fools with some nasty ailment! Made for good laughs though!

then moved into an apartment with a friend of a friend from HS til 25

then moved to a house my brother bought til his apartment lease was up
