Haven't we had this discussion before? :p

It could be that we're vastly different from them and they'd like to study how we evolved or were created in the manner we appear. Maybe they're just slightly ahead of us (as in 100-200 years) technologically and they're just exploring... or maybe they're way ahead of us and view and study us the way we do chimps. :24:

I am asking an honest question here.

Why would they need to or want to study us? And if they are, why are they only abducting the idiots and not the intelligent people?

Perhaps it's something as simple as scientific curiosity. Maybe our way of life differs from their own so much that we're considered an oddity to them that we exist in the form that we do. Or perhaps there's something in our physiological make-up that they don't understand that could be the key to fixing a flaw with their own race. It's a pop-culture reference, but it was posited in Stargate SG-1 that we were being abducted for study to see if we could be a solution for the flaw in cloning that the Asgardian race had run into.

Or they could simply be malevolent and are trying to do as much harm to us as they can come up with... maybe they like fucking with our genetic makeup to see what might happen.

I want to...but I can't buy that. We aren't exactly the most efficient creatures in terms of our evolutionary process and where we are on the evolutionary line at this point in time.

Then maybe that's why they would study us... how did we get to this point in our development without being efficient. Or, why is it that our progress has been stalled in the name of petty conflicts between ourselves. Or maybe they expect us to blow each other all to hell, so they want to take a look at us before we're all gone. :24:

Maybe not serious sounding to a skeptic, but I see no reason why they couldn't be coming here and studying us as we study lower primates. Maybe there is something in our physiological makeup that doesn't make sense to them and they're trying to get a better idea as to why we even exist, because we don't make scientific sense to them. Perhaps they're looking for a way to subvert our independent will in order to enslave us and do their bidding. There's thought that they could've even been here back in the time of the ancient Egyptians, and that's how the pyramids were constructed... through slave labor, but not to the Egyptians but to their gods... aliens in the guise of gods that is. Ancient Egyptian, Mayan, Inca, Toltec, and Aztec ruins all seem to depict a sort of alien being... the concept of alien visitations doesn't seem to be that foreign to them, only they viewed it as visitations from the gods. Look at the crystal skulls that have been found... made of a single piece of crystal, depicting a head that is very large and oblong, much like we view the grey-type aliens in science fiction and popular culture. There is a model of a type of plane that was found in ancient central american ruins that when enlarged into a workable model that was an exact replica of the object, displayed perfect aerodynamic qualities and was able to both glide and fly (with an engine attached).

The evidence is out there, we just have to be willing to see it for what it is. Look at cases like Betty and Barney Hill... Betty described a constellation of stars pretty much perfectly from what her supposed abductors told her of their planet and solar system. The case of Travis Walton has a lot of corroborating evidence that goes along with it. What about the Phoenix Lights? How can they really be described outside of an alien visitation?

I believe the Phoenix Lights were disproved to be some sort of flare. I watched a show on it a few weeks ago, and the way the lights disappeared matched perfectly to them disappearing behind a mountain range out there.

In any event, I'm trying to have an open mind, but I find it incredibly hard to believe that some other living creature from another galaxy or whatever would come all this way, find us, and then keep coming to examine an inferior race. It doesn't make sense. We watch monkeys because they're here. They're easily accessible. We don't travel to far away galaxies and examine other creatures.

I would just like you to know that my issue is with the abduction. I can't believe that. I can understand UFO sightings if I try really hard. But actual visitation and abduction? Be realistic.

How could the Phoenix Lights have been flares when they were seen all the way from the Nevada border moving south, and then as far south as Tuscon after they were seen in Phoenix?

I can understand being skeptical of abductions; but there have been so many cases with trace evidence over the years that it seems at least plausible. As far as why we don't travel to other galaxies to examine other creatures --- we don't have the technology to do so yet. We've been studying Mars extensively since the technology existed to send probes and rovers over there. It would stand to reason that we would be doing that extensively if we had the ability to regularly travel outside of our solar system and discover life elsewhere. Humans are a very curious species, and I think that if we found actual life elsewhere... as in animal and/or sentient life, we would be doing everything in our power to study them and find out how they came to be.

I'm talking about one specific set of lights. The line of lights that was seen here. Not the ones that were seen in other places.

I'm also curious as to how you expect people to believe in alien abductions and visitations when so many quacks out there make claims and make hoaxes and everything. No one can take it seriously. *shrug*

But the ones that were seen elsewhere, moving in a southern direction matched up with what was experienced in Phoenix. It would stand to reason that they were the same group of lights.

You're right, that's the main problem. It's the same thing with all of the UFO hoaxes... the Jerusalem mass sighting from three different cameras that even the news media picked up on... elaborate hoax. It almost makes you wonder if (conspiracy time) it's a directed and purposeful disinformation attempt... that way, even when people have videos of the real thing, the masses will believe that it's just another hoax.

K. I'm done with this conversation.

You're the believer and you don't even try to convince me. You pick a stupid point and pound it into the ground. I'm not that interested in this conversation.

I will just say that someone yesterday did have me convinced that I could see the whole situation. You turned that right back around. Thumbs up for you, my friend.

How did I pick one point and pound it into the ground? I brought up all kinds of plausible explanations, at least plausible to me.

Enver is 3 today.

Which means Abbey is almost 3.

Which means Abbey is almost ready for kindergarten.

And then she'll be graduating.

And then she'll be having her own babies.

Fuck. :(

I'm ready for another baby.
