Turns out USF is number 54 on Scouts, tied with BYU.

We've got one 4-star recruit, but there is a 5-star considering us. He's a Florida boy, so we stand a chance.

Essentially, we get the left-overs from UF, FSU and Miami... but that is changing somewhat. We beat UM last year and FSU the year before and actually played UF tight for the first half until our 18 and 19 year olds folded in the Swamp. Plus we apparently have a slightly more... liberal academic acceptance policy.

Add in the fact that we play in the Big Least and stand a good shot at playing in a BCS game every year and we should get our fair share. :)

Nice!

I feel your pain on getting leftovers from the big schools... but, we play Cal to start this next year, and we beat UCLA a few seasons back. We took USC to the wire in 2005, and I don't think we've ever played Stanford. So we have a decent trackrecord against the other California teams (plus SDSU and SJSU who have both been horrible lately). But we end up losing a ton of recruits to Pac-10(12) schools in general.

Good luck playing in a BCS game with TCU joining you guys after next season. They're a disgusting juggernaut... but then again, what goes up must come down, as Cincy proved this year.

Got our first 2012 commit yesterday...

http://fresnostate.scout.com/a.z?s=164&p=8&c=1&nid=5047565

Kid is a beast of an offensive lineman... 6'5", 286lbs.... as a JUNIOR

Listed as a 3-star prospect right now, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him as a 4/5-star after next season, especially if he keeps growing and getting stronger. This is an absolutely huge (pun intended) pickup for us... usually the best talent in the valley goes to a Pac-10(12) school. I can't find any free video of him anywhere (I'm a Scout member, so I can see what's available there), but he absolutely dwarfs the other kids on the field. The best part is how he basically gave USC, Cal, Nebraska, Duke, and Oregon the finger by signing now after they all pretty much told him they'd offer next season.

Well, one of the names is now listed as signed on Rivals... Marcus McDade. He signed with us last year as a 2-star, but couldn't make grades... went to a military academy this last season, and is listed as a 3-star now. He's got a massive arm... was thought by some scouts last year that he could make vertical throws that some NFL QBs couldn't. He's got some accuracy issues, but he's got a few years to develop before he'd see playing wime. I'll expect him to redshirt next year, and if he develops, start his Jr. Year after DC2 graduated (earlier if DC2 only stays 1-2 seasons).

The other four I can't name yet... but one of them is a relatively big name, for us anyway.

This will push us to the top of the WAC in terms of recruiting, as usual... and add 2-3 to our list of 3-star recruits. I'm guessing we'll end up in the 60-70 range in terms of ranking, but we also have a small class this year (17-18).

I think a lot of our incoming kids are really underrated though... at least from the looks of things.

I think his life would be in jeopardy if he attempted to cross the State line.

I think you're right. TN = rednecks, well armed rednecks.

:24: :24:

I'm not sure who is gonna end up coaching the Titans. A coordinator might be a good choice, Fisher was the DC before being promoted to interim and then permanent head coach.

Cowher could be an interesting choice there... but I'm not sure if he's ready to come back and coach.
