If you ask me religion started to die when they segregated it to far past the point, when there was one religion everyone beleived in that one higher power ie: god.
Nowdays its been split into so many different religions that i dont think it matters what you have faith in as long as you have faith to begin with.

I'm not aware of any point in history where this has happened?

I think a lot of people are just seeing through the prejudices and hypocracy of organised religions, even though they still believe in God. I have noticed that people in the USA seems to be more religious in general than over here.

I know what you mean, I think its because the country was founded by Puritains and it just has that Christian undertone to almost everything.

Yeah, America as we know it really started from puritans escaping persecution and I think that sense of martyrdom has still left the USA quite sensitive when it comes to religion. I put up the thread the other day somewhere else about how religious Tony Blair was but how he hid it somewhat. While strong religious faith in the USA in a politician seems to be generally viewed as a good thing, over here it's generally viewed like the're some kind of nut.

i think its more self-righteousness than martyrdom, lol. I believe that is two sided, its good in the sense that it makes people think they are trustworthy and honest but at the same time it makes people think that when something goes wrong the politician will go " God told me to, don't put this on me." or the politician will put to much faith in his belief and start making decisions on impulse.

Point taken but majority wise those alone are responsible for so many branches. Just think of all the religions that stem from those alone thats more than enough to prove his point.

I couldn't vote as I am none of the 3 choices.

I am a very spiritual person. I despise man made religion - we screw up everything.

I love God and I try to love my neighbor as myself.

I believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Christ is my personal savior.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are good lessons to be learned from all religions, but my mind for some reason or other cant just believe something. Its weird.

1.) This poll is flawed because it does not have "theist" and "religious" seperate. They are two vastly differen't things.

2.) Pantheism is just an unnescesary term.

GA- By what you said, you are a Christian. That means you're religious.

Yes. I have a wonderful church family.

But please don't bother trying to imply that since I go to church that I am religious.

Stick to answering the question for yourself and labeling yourself however you choose to do so. Refrain from labeling others.

We aren't organized and we are not compulsory ritual. No legalism - no thank you. But once again I get tired of being the only one that gets questioned and people trying to tell me what I am. Go question someone else if you must. This gets old. It really does. You don't see me constantly giving you the third about being whatever it is that you label yourself as. I really wish you'd stop. You do this in thread after thread. Maybe you could make this your new years resolution - ;) :p
