Okay so I've been down with a knee injury for the past 3 months and not been able to run.
So I thought what better way to get back into it than to set a challenge for me and others, make my runs worth somehting more than a place as an officer in the RAF XD.

Okay so my last run a slow 1.5 mile run was in 15minutes 18seconds

So if you can beat that (Woudln't be suprised if you did it's terrible) I will then try and beat your time.

It's been years since I did even a 1 mile run, it's not the sound or looking at a map that gets to me it's that I've tried it before lol

Haha, yeah it's weird in the gym too, even though the gym has some really good equipment there, I'd love to tone my calves more. I think I have done well with what I have though. My bike, a pair of dumbbells and a fitness ball I got for Christmas which I am yet to use lol. Maybe when I make my legs stronger I'll go for a run lol. I've only learnt I can run pretty fast if I am angry.

First in runnign you need to work on staying power so lots of 1.5 mile and longer runs then with really short as fast as you can runs and sprints.
It's how I do mine, one day I'll do a long run with a rest day and a day were I go swimming (2 days) then go for a speed run at more like around the block sort of distance
also something my dad introduced me too which is picking two points on a run and sprinting as fast as possible between em then resting then doing it again, that is the most tireing run I do

That's why I'll only register at a 24 hour gym so I can go in at like 2-3 in the morning and have it to myself.

Yeah, doing things fast is really good for you. Like with exercise bike riding, it's better to do bouts of fast riding with a little rest in between (say, 2 minutes of speed riding and 30 seconds slowed riding for rest), especially for anyone wanting to lose weight.
I also read somewhere that those who take stairs lose 3kg more than those who don't lol. I really hate stairs, but since becoming a little fitter lately, I always skip a step, it feels natural, there's just too many steps lol.

It really depends what you're going for, if you're trying to build up cardio and endurance it's better to go on longer, slower runs, if you're just trying to burn fat then do sprints.

That would be awesome I reckon. Beats exercising at home at two in the morning lol.

I'm a night person anyways, I'll be awake anyways and it's not like I had anything else to do, I'd like to get a Gym membership actually, I should see if there's any 24 hour gyms around here.

Yeah, that's true. I think I would be good at endurance. But speed running, only good for me when I am having wild emotions at the time I think lol.

If my timetable works out next year, I finish uni at around two or three on Monday-Wednesday afternoons. Instead of coming home and doing it maybe I should hit a gym. It'll be getting dark earlier in the cooler months too...I'm glad I thought of this idea.
