Was just reading about this on BBC News, some of the images are just plain scary

but rather "dishing" it out to us in a sense. The real question is...

so devastating...bless themJust terrible, the aftershocks were huge, too. I have a friend stationed in Japan right now. Haven't heard from him since about 2am. I heard all the military people were accounted for, but I assume they'll be busy doing relief work for quite awhile. It's scary to think that an earthquake in Japan could affect the west coast of North America.
I also thought it was crazy to see on the news the pictures of the water dragging not only a boat across land, but also a building that was still on fire. I can't imagine how scary that must be to see in person.
It's natural selection. society chooses where they live. It's tragic yes. But It's nature. Is the world going to end because of it? No.
How much more can this world take?!

I'm not surprised though as with what happened to New Zealand it was expected to continue.... the ring of fire is awake.

They're 99.9% sure they're completely safe, a few fires in one or two but that's it. And they're in cooling towers. But it's testament to how prepared Japan are that they shut-down automatically and the neighbouring area was evacuated. :thumbup
I have been seeing my friends that live in Japan put updates on their facebook.. well all except 1 of them... He still hasn't updated..

Why the fuck do as humans put fucking faith in nuclear energy? We know wtf nuclear fallout does....

It is tragic but not unexpected. Just wait until the west coast of North America get's theirs.... and they will get it. It's just a matter of time and there is no way in hell we are as prepared as Japan.
