8.9 Earthquake just hit Japan

Sorry I don't have a link but I'm talking to a friend of mine right now he just told me that he's watching on the news and Japan has just been hit by an 8.9 earthquake and is currently being hit with massive tsunami waves, this is no doubt going to be a major tragedy.

Just read on the CNN website that 4 million homes are without power right now

There are Tsunami warnings in some US Pacific states, including Hawaii. Also Russia has got some warnings

My friend who is in New Zealand at the moment just got a Tsunami warning.

Given Japan is only a few percentage of land and mostly surrounded by water- I am hoping they have a lot more survivors over lost lives

From what I can make out from her facebook post, her and the other gap year students she is with are all staying where they are but are on alert for any other news.

I don't think there is going to be a Tsunami in NZ, Aussie and US, Taiwan have rescinded their tsunami warning because there isn't any unusual wave patterns

God be with those who are surely in need of help...this is just awful...8.9 on the scale....amazing....and was thinking about heading to Tokyo for a visit....
