omg cam elle toe I'm literally laughing at you right now
omg cam elle toe I'm literally laughing at you right now
why do you believe in Atlantis
I dont believe as such, but I dont DISbelieve either.
Because I have read literally 100's of books, written in different eras, countries and by all different types of authors that give reasons to why it existed. (common belief is it was where the Bermuda triangle is now)
I have an open mind AEF, and I am still forming my "beliefs" as it were...I WILL say, I dont blindly believe everything my/your government/church tells me/ WANTS me to believe
I prefer to form my own opinions based on what "feels right" to me, and LOTS of reading/research...
SO...laugh all you like...I really dont care
No, you said in a previous post that you DO believe in Atlantis.
Just because there are 100s of books on the subject doesn't make it true. Know how many thousands of books are written on complete BS?
There is a difference between having an "open mind" (whatever that really means) and believing in things that have close to no real tangible evidence for them.
I would suggest stop believing in stuff because it "feels right".
lol I'm not suggesting anything, I'm using your exact words.Yes I did....and now I'm clarifying...that I'm open to it, and you can suggest what you like ...your the last personI would listen to on matters like this because you are so one eyed and closed minded.
I SUGGEST....you open that closed little mind of yours up once in a while, and not be so quick to judge others. Your still young though, it comes with age and maturity.
I'd also be willing to bet you have read NOTHING (or very little) on the subject anyway.
we have the remnants of a tail do we not?
lol I'm not suggesting anything, I'm using your exact words.
I'm not close minded, I just don't put much stock in things that simply do not have any real evidence behind them.
I suggest you don't believe in hilarious bullshit. Like really, "star seeded"? Civilizations existing before evolution? That stuff is literally crazy.
Actually I have read books on Atlantis for my antiquities class.

You just got done suggesting things to me, so I figured that I'd do the same for you. Not a one-way road.I suggest YOU stop suggesting to me what to do...OK? Its really condescending and annoying. I;ve never told YOU what to believe, or laughed at your limited scope of vision, so I'd appreciate the same courtesy...but as I said....that will come with age and maturity...(we can hope)
What books did you read, and who wrote them? and WHY did you read them for a class in the first place if your not open to it...let alone an antiquities one.
That was in relation to you saying that you didn't say that you believed in Atlantis, but merely "don't disbelieve" in it. You were backpedaling.:willy_nilly::willy_nilly::24:

Bullshit...you did the "suggesting" first
So what age do I have to reach before I start believing in things like Atlantis and other things that have no real evidence behind them besides cultural myths? 45? 50?
never said you had to believe..
You do know what an antiquities class is, right? I took it as an elective because history is one of my fields of study. It is a class on all of the ancient civilizations like Greece, Rome, The Byzantine Empire, the middle east etc etc etc. Strange, no Atlantis was included.
Yet you just said you read books on it in your class.
That was in relation to you saying that you didn't say that you believed in Atlantis, but merely "don't disbelieve" in it. You were backpedaling.
you call it back pedalling, I call it clarifying
Come on, keep up.
Toe, how old is the Earth?
older than you think....
Also, can you show me a single, reputable shred of evidence that is agreed upon by most scholars for Atlantis?
first, whats your definition of "scholars".....
Established professional in their fields that have studied and written on their subjects with objective, supportive evidence that can be affirmed by other professionals both within and outside of their field. Atlantis doesn't have any of that.
How old though?
It is around 4.5 billion years old of course. How old do you think it is?...and
Tell me what books you say you did, then didnt read :ninja and who wrote them...still waiting for that answer.
It is around 4.5 billion years old of course.
I can't remember the exact names of the books it was like 3 years ago. They went over all of the real ancient civilizations and mentioned myths and legends here and there that connected with regional folklore. It was an antiquities textbook from a guy at Oxford.
again, if Atlantis had any real evidence behind it archeologists, historians and everyone else would be all over it. However, it simply does not exist. It is a legend.
Yes they were in their own way for their time. They weren't right about everything either.I have a question, do you consider Plato, Socrates and many other ancient scholars as "scholars" or do they have to be from the modern era...
