I'm sorry , she was convicted. Thats why there was a sentencing today

Yeah, of lying to the police.

There are 4 counts of lying to the police which will most likely be reduced to one count since all the lies came in one interview, and the other 3 lies would fall under double jeopardy. So you think she should have to pay for a murder trial because she was found guilty of lying to police???

people

you really need to let go

turn off the tv

Why? This is our judicial system "at work". Isn't it a good thing to witness the proceedings and to see the inner workings? Most of us don't get to see a case go to trial very often.

Too bad Casey didn't feel that way.

The jury found her not guilty. Apparently the state didn't prove their case. But in my eyes (yes, in MY eyes) I think she is guilty as hell. Whether the trial was fair or not, her actions and her lying proves to me that she did it. What innocent person would cover up an accident to make it look like a murder?

Do you know how she died?

That's the whole point here. How can anyone believe it's murder when no ones how she died?

If she did drown in the pool, that isn't murder, right?

You know what Tim I actually agree with you. If she drowned in the pool it is not murder. Unless she was assisted in drowning in the pool. But Lying to the police is definately a Red flag raiser. Would you agree?

Guilty or not. I will not voice that opinion. I believe in our Judicial system, and I believe the Jury did thier job. A job non of us would probably want. That is just my $0.02

All I know about the case would not fill a thimble. I heard there was duct tape on the body and the story being told was the child drowned in a pool. My pool does not have any duct tape in it. The child's death is very susdicious. Not sure who killed the child but from what I heard it doesn't sound like an accident or suicide.

My wife recently served on a capital murder case. Amazing how much of the defendent's history was hidden from the jury until after the verdict. Those of us casual observers may know more about the seamier side of Casey Anthony than the jury. At the least she was an unfit mother and a slut. I am not sure she is a murderer but she certainly is a strange one.

You people who are arguing that this girl is innocent are just arguing because you like being on the other side of an argument. She may have gotten lucky that the prosecution were total idiots with how to prosecute, but she is guilty of something. Her child is dead. She is the mother. She lied for good reason.

I'm disgusted that any of you would sit here and argue for this chick when her child is dead. The child isn't dead because her mother took her to school and voila she ended up dead. Get real people. What are you really arguing for? That justice was served? Really?

Who has argued that she is innocent? Show me one person or post who said that?

What we have said is that the State did not PROVE how, when and why she killed the child. They MUST do that in order to sentence someone to death. As much as it sucks that we don't have the answers, this was the only right option the jury had. Not guilty DOES NOT equal innocent. You do get that, don't you?

I think we as a society watch too many of these TV shows where damning evidence of DNA comes to light and the guilty party admits the crime and the show ends. Too often in real life there are blurred lines and unclear evidence. Great lawyers and incompetent prosecutors all come into play in a real courtroom. Heck, an incompetent judge or a juror with an agenda can de-rail a slam-dunk case.

Unfortunately not guilty also doesn't mean anyone is held accountable for the death of this child, and likely never will, as common sense would indicate Casey was involved somehow, any how.

I get the sense that is what most of the people not saying the technically right thing (in terms of protecting the judicial process and playing devil's advocate) are referring to...

You can believe what you want to believe, I'm too lazy to go through this thread to hand pick them out, but they are there.

Also, no one argued that the state did their job correctly either.

Yes, I know not guilty does not equal innocence, although there is a stupid saying somewhere, what is it, oh yeah... "innocent until proven guilty".

I posted this on FB, thought I'd share it here:

All the religious pro-life people in my office had a COW that Casey Anthony got off scot free. One made the comment that Casey ought to be "fixed." I threw in "this is why when people want an abortion, you should let them." It got real quiet real quick.
