I think ya gots to find the body first before you charge the mother. Or anyone with murder or manslaughter.
Nope, you do not. There have been people convicted of murder w/ no body ever being found. A body is NOT required to prove murder...it just makes it easier to. ;)

Here, from Wikipedia...when and why they decided you didn't need a body to be charged w/ murder:
Abolition of "no body, no murder"

The rule was finally abolished for practical purposes in the 1954 case of Michail Onufrejczyk. He and a fellow-Pole, Stanislaw Sykut, had stayed in the United Kingdom after the Second World War and ran a farm together in Wales. Sykut disappeared and Onufrejczyk claimed that he had returned to Poland. Bone fragments and blood spatters were found in the farm kitchen, although DNA technology was then insufficiently advanced to identify them. Charged with Sykut's murder, Onufrejczyk claimed that the remains were those of rabbits he had killed, but the jury disbelieved him and he was sentenced to death, but reprieved.[4] He appealed,[5] but this was dismissed by the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Goddard, saying that "things had moved on since the days of the Camden Wonder"[1] and also
"… it is equally clear that the fact of death, like any other fact, can be proved by circumstantial evidence, that is to say, evidence of facts which lead to one conclusion, provided that the jury are satisfied and are warned that it must lead to one conclusion only."[6]
The United States case of People v. Scott 176 Cal. App. 2d 458 (1960) held that "circumstantial evidence, when sufficient to exclude every other reasonable hypothesis, may prove the death of a missing person, the existence of a homicide and the guilt of the accused".[7]

So is anyone watching the trial? Does anyone feel like me and want to punch her right in the face? She'll probably get off on a technicality, hung jury or something similar. This beautiful little girl was found bound with duct tape and wrapped in garbage bags. I hope Casey Anthony rots in hell.

So who wants to pummel her in the face with me?

I was at school walking to class when I saw them report they found Caylee's body. So sad, I find the behaviors of this woman incredibly troubling...I get that it may just be circumstantial evidence but WOW is it convincing. I will admit, it's easy to want anyone to pay for a crime like this, even if the evidence may not all be there, but in my mind I feel like Casey did this.

Yes, I agree. In this case, there is no "innocent before proven guilty" for me.

The whole thing is so screwed up, that family...I just can't imagine all of this being a coincidence or an accident, idk...I always hate to say things like that because you never know and I'd hate for it to be me, but jeez.

Yeah I now, me too. But the parents seemed legitimately heartbroken for Caylee. Now Casey is saying her father helped her dispose of the body because that's what they do...hide things. And that the father raped her as a child and that's why she lies now. And how could she party right after this all happened to her baby? The whole thing is just disgusting.

They were supposed to have court this morning and the judge suspended it until Monday. The media is reporting that it may be for something big.

Oh god! Not here too? No offense but I'll just be glad when this trial is over because of my missus aunt. I've got her on facebook and she is obsessed with this trial for some reason. Spams up facebook argueing with people about it and posts about 50 videos a fucking night of it. I would delete her but she'd notice and start kicking up a fuss.

This thread is over two years old, and I didn't even know about this case until yesterday when I was reading the times.

I'm betting the mother will get what she deserves: a long prison sentence.

However, people shouldn't line up for hours to get tickets into the court house like it's some show. It gives the mother attention and puts more stress on the jurors. But hey, the media loves these types of stories.

It's weird how the media loves this stuff; we haven't had a big case like this in a long time. My parents always watched murder trials when I was growing up, I used to play lawyer as a kid because of it lol.

My gut feeling is that Caylee is the child of Casey Anthony and her brother Lee. CAY. LEE. Not to mention the parents have been hiding something about the relationship between their son and daughter. That whole family is fucked up.

Eep, that's creepy I hadn't heard about that.

I actually don't think it's been even questioned whether or not her and the brother had a relationship. I do remember at one point that the parents were asked questions about the son and Casey was asked certain questions that none of them would answer. It was all really suspicious (like the whole case) and made me think that there was more to brother and sister than mom and dad were willing to tell.

I thought I heard that Casey was accusing both her father and brother of sexual abuse.

Yeah, I think so. I need to use my investigative skills now. LOL

lol I will too. It still unfathomable to me that a mother could kill her own child. Or if she didn't, that she could sit back while it's all being covered and kept secret. God it makes me sick...
