Is Autism really that bad?

Ive just sat and read through this thread...its disturbed me.....Im not going to challenge you Valentin, you are blissfully in a world of your own.....and congratulations to you. What i can say is, although you state its not "normal" to be autistic but its not "terrible"...that one day you have the insight, or experience to return and say the same...

Anyone without experience, i mean day to day life experience in this...has no right to say anything.
So i will bookmark your opinions until a time when deems fit?..

Can you tell if a child is autistic in the womb? If so, there will never be a time i'll be qualified according to you.

Frankly, if you'd rather your child sufferd from brittle bone syndrome or elephantitis, you're a cruel woman.

I wouldnt wish any child or person to be subjected to any disease or affliction...but thats life unfortunately. As i said, there really is nothing more you can say on the subject?...I stand by my original thoughts, and that is you can not judge what you do not know.

Valentin.. Im not saying that I dont watch my child.. because I do.. im just making examples for you. I watch my child like a hawk and nothing hardly goes wrong with him. However, Im gonna say you just need to end this now before I seriously get pissed. Autism is something that NOONE should take lightly, and the fact that you have a who cares attitude makes me wonder why you are even in this thread debating? Yes, there are things far worse, however Autism is horrible in its own regards.

Man, you just dont get it do you? You're one of those kids that needs a good old fashioned passionate ass whoopin. I bet you wouldnt express your views so harshly in the face of a father whos child has autism. You'd look funny crying with all that eyeliner on after he stomped a mud hole in ya.

I'm in this thread because that's why it was created. I'm called out in the op. An op that seriously misrepresents my position.

I think it's okay to make jokes about autism. Apparantly i'm in a minority. But i'm still going to make jokes about autism. And i know that being autistic isn't exactly the ideal state of living. I don't really think there is a debate here.

I bet i would. And i'm sorry, but i don't see how my views are that horrible. I'd tell the father that it could be worse. And if he had any sense, he'd agree with me. If he had no sense, and decided to attack me, he'd likely end up dead.

I agree with V, this is a pointless debate...in fact in shouldnt even be considered a debate...autism is a terrible thing, and anyone who says otherwise doesnt have the ethics or morals to be a candidate for opinion anyway.

Boy I'd pay money to see that. I really would. Hell, I'd pay money to be the one doing the stomping.

You'd pay to see me tell the father of an autistic child that he should be thankfull that his kid doesn't suffer from Stiffman Syndrome instead? What a waste of money.

I didn't say it wasn't terrible. I'm glad i'm not autistic. There are a lot of things that are much more terrible, that's all i said.

Buts its no soo terrible you couldnt crack a joke?..plse valentin, you are completely out of your depth in this matter...i suggest you spend some of your "well earned" time with an severely autistic child...then you may have an opinion ill listen to
