England didn't invent the English language. lol
did too... actually if you want to get picky about it, it was the french ...see when we had a french monach way back when the locals began to slang on the french lang so in the end they called it english.... yeah...thats about as educated as I'm getting on here....

but didn't english,french,italian and spanish all evolve out of latin?
Well sort of
English is a Germanic language, and anglo-saxon as it once was in Early English and Middle English came from the vikings.
When the Early Modern English period started, which is renaissance, Shakespeare sort of language, Latin and French started to invade the language, actually that happened any time after 1066 when William the Conquerer and all his Normandy buddies brought in a lot of new French and Latin words into the language.
Usually these were words associated with leisure and government (Government and leisure being two examples of French orignated words lol) for example : City, Tennis, Lord, are all French\Latin words.
Spanish\Italian\French are Romance languages, almost completely derive from Latin, where as our language is Germanic, with sprinklings of Romantic language invasions.
(Some examples of Anglo Saxon words: King, Queen, Husband, Wife, River)
