I'm sitting here thinking about things, and kind of got upset over everything. A couple days ago I tore my contact lens. I scheduled at appt right away with the doctor, b/c I wear my contacts everyday. Went today to the docs, and she made my perscription a little higher. The contacts won't be in for 2-2 1/2 weeks, unless tim and i can get them over the internet. The reason that they take so long is b/c my perscription isn't one thats just on the shelves.

I asked about laser eye surgery, something that I've been wanting since it came about...she didn't sound to hopeful. She said that she would give another eye doctor my perscription number and he'll eye say yes or no...basicaly my vision is to bad for it.

I know I'm not blind, and there are people that are worse than me...my dad's eyes are worse, but I really don't think it's by much. I'm just so sick of my eyes, I just want to freakin see clearly...and not have to worry about buying special contacts, not have to worry about damaging a contact...or wearing glasses...I HATE IT ALL!!!!!!!

well just be thankful that you can at least see things when you wake up in the morning...and not have to search for your eyes. I can't even see 2 feet in front of me without my contacts or glasses...

...nevermind I took my glasses off to read the mountain dew bottle, let me rephrase that, I can't see a foot in front of me.

i wear both ,and walk around blind too .im always tearing contacts.they are expensive here too ,and i hate pissing about with the little buggers.
in india i can buy a whole years supply of disposable contacts for £50(about $100).
i would get a second opinion on the laser treatment:)

I know the feeling. I can't do the contacts, for some reason I can't put my finger into my eye...

I was on a waiting list in Virginia for the eye surgery, but then I had to go to Iraq. They told me they could only save my spot for 6 months, and I was gone for a year. Fuckin stupid.

do you have the weighted contacts ,i know they dont come as disposable?
even laser treatment is really cheap in india ,and excellent,we get specs done there when we are there :)

its a bastard though,i hate it when you try to put makeup on and need to put specs on to see your bloody eyes:smiley24:

I used to wear gas ridge contacts but started having what appeared to be an allergic reaction to them (my eyes got all red and puffy and bloodshot) so they had to switch me to soft ones. They're better but they start bothering me if I wear them too long. Sadly, my glasses broke and now I'm stuck wearing them all the time now. It's not fun changing a diaper and have to get within inches of him to see what's going on.

:clap Amen sister. I am exactly the same way.

My eyes are so fucked, that my right is just a LITTLE worse than my left, and will get worse faster than my left, so right now I have slight double vision and no money to go get my prescription redone again. I'd love to be able to wake up at 3 am and be able to see my clock crystal clear for a change.

When did your eyes start to go bad? I've worn glasses since the 4th grade, and I cannot do contacts without making my eyes water like a faucet, which in turn makes them slide around.

I can relate to everyone in this thread. Since I started wearing contact (15 y.o) my vision has gotten progressively worse. Which has a tendency to happen. I would love to have lasik surgery, but I just don't have the moola right now.

Guess... I don't know were you live but if it's not a large metro city, you might wanna consider traveling for a second opinion. Good luck to you.

i started wearing them in second grade...I even remember when I brought them into class to put them on, everyone was staring at me lol.

I know how you feel.

I've had glasses for Ooooh, 27 years, never fancied the idea of contacts at all.

However, now, I have not only my right eye that's worsened, but my left eye is only about half good if that, as I have mentioned. Don't know yet if it is permanent or not, til I see the specialist, but it is hard going not being able to see well and knowing the sight's not fully there in one eye.

Still, I have the other eye, which is a good thing and needed my prescription changed again as even my right eye has worsened, but my glasses are helping that eye - just the left to see to.

I hope I am not losing my sight for good, but until I see the specialist, not going to worry too much, cos it hopefully will be rectifiable. :)

Try not to let it get to you too much Alicia, but I know how you feel. :)
