Have you ever hit one in mid-air?

Because I have, I have also taken countless hit's by baseball's, it's not fun.

But you cannot convince me that learning to hit a ball coming off the ground, takes anymore skill than hitting one belt high. That's basically a dead heat.

Actually it does take more skill learning to hit a ball and judging it coming off the ground than in the air. The ball comes off the ground in many more different directions due to different types of spin (very many, trust me on this), or pace, and at times often unexpected angles and spurts depending on what part of the roughened ground it hits before it rebounds.

Yes. See the bowler in a cricket game can place the ball anywhere. Bouncing off the ground, then moving in any directon as it deflects of the seem. It could bounce straight into your nuts, guts, or head. Or the bowler could bowl it straight onto your toes. Or he could do what's known as a full toss and deliver it straight to your chest on the full.

It's much harder to hit a cricket ball than a baseball.

Also. You guys wear mits! MITS! We catch the ball bear-handed!! Come on now!
Cricket is too complicated for me. I get nose bleeds trying to figure out that game.

There's something you're missing here Bacon! In Rugby you're only allowed to tackle the player with the ball. No blocking, no interference. It's all about the ball!!!
By the way, you've obviously never met a rugby player. They all, all have various obvious injuries. Broken noses, cauliflower ears, gouges, scars etc!!! They're not sissys!!!

Trust me.;)

and no helmets!!

Thanks Debbie :)

I dont know if its me or not but something in the back of my head keeps saying its something about thye American pscyhe keeps saying to Americans that they are bigger stronger and better than everybody else.

Now that seems to come thryu in every field of life not just the sports field, they have to overwhelm their opponents militarily, commercially and beat them in every other walk of life.Guess its some sort of insecurity they seem to inherit asd a nation .Just
can't figure out why for the life of me when nearly every American I have met seems so down to earth and sociable. LOL

It seems American bashing is still fashionable in Ireland. :smiley24:

If you actually read my post and took on board whaty I said you would see I am not American bashing, just questioning some people's ability to take honest open criticism without going over the top in response.

gLing for your information I have many6 Americxan friends ans not one of them would describe me as anAmerican basher. Your Over the Top defensive posture on a simple post seems to bear out my observations about being able to take criticism without getting all defensive and attacking others.

Relax its only an opinion. Its not even said seriously :)

Relax it is only my opinion that you are American bashing with your ridiculous generalized comments.
I'm sure you wouldn't be upset if somebody said people from Ireland tend to be drunken slobs and that it has something do with an inherit insecurity as a nation.
