going under the knife tomorrow morning

a whole bunch of drugs haha...the only thing that gets me is how their is always that chance you wont wake up from the anesthesia...its a very low chance like slim to non but you have to sign saying you know that it may be your last time going to sleep

Well, that is one wayto look at it, I was never fond of that anxiety either, but a little sedative, and they could have sent me to a vet to have me put to sleep and I would not have cared...lol

The drugs they use for outpatient surgery have a limited halflife, it would be hard for you to stay under forever.

What I would be afraid of is that they have the wrong order for the surgery and amputate instead....Ehh don't worry about that either:p

You'll be just fine:D

:eek that's a horrible last thought before you go under - I would be freakin out if it was me - I dread that myself.

Flippin eck Chris - make sure you get here as soon as possible to let us know the best happened to you, not the worst. :(

Take care. :)

Wow, well you do really well to keep your humour then - good for you too hun, cos we like you here. :)

I don't know a lot about it, but that it occurs from when you are growing in the womb, is that right?

You don't have to go into it if you would prefer not to though, as don't want to be intrusive, especially as you are new here. :)

I'm really not 100% sure on all of its aspects myself. I know that when I was born that there was so much pressure built up on my brain that i was clinically dead for a moment I believe. It's basicall water on the brain which forms when fluids can't cirulate normally, they have to a shunt or a tube & a pump in so that the fluid equalizes. I have 2 shunts one really doesn't do anything and is just there because theres no real need to remove it. I also have a cyst from being moved immaturely by a doctor. We unfortunately didn't find out til years later.

There's a site if anyone wants to look at it Hydrocephalus Association. I'm not looking for empathy or pity. I've lived with it all my life and it's just become a part of me =)
