9/11 conspiracy theorists

So it's fine as long as they died unexpectedly due to a terrorist attack, but not if it was an inside job? That makes sense. I'm with Boomer on this one. Some of you are being too harsh about this. Conspiracy theorists aren't stupid, and we're allowed to have an opinion, whether someone likes it or not.

No, but these theorists better bring some irrefutable evidence. They rarely deliver.

Yer not gonna. Its the fuckin government. Even if someone HAD evidence. The person and the evidence would be discredited by the media. They would drag you through the mud untill everyone thought you were a moron and stopped believing in you. And if they couldnt do it that way. They fucking kill you.
Feel free to look back at my 2 other posts in here Boomie, but I haven't called you stupid ;)

But since it's the debate section...How can you use a lack of evidence as proof of something? By that logic you should be the most devoutly religious person on Earth.

I DO believe in God Donnie. I dont believe in religion, but I deffinately believe in God.
Alright, damn, that takes away my little attempt at a metaphor :D

But seriously, how is a lack of proof sufficient evidence to believe in something? I'm not talking about God, since people have their own personal experiences and whatnot with religion.

But how can you believe 9/11 was a conspiracy because of the fact that it can't be proven?

What makes you think that people dont have their own personal experiences and whatnot with the government that would make us lose faith in it?

I never said I believed 9/11 was a conspiracy because of the fact that it cant be proven.

Look at the first reply and you should see why I belive the government would do such a thing.

People, especially Americans, love a good conspiracy. I don't know why, but they do. Maybe it's our love of drama and intrigue perpetuated by television?

I agree. That could be a factor.
For some reason this popped into my head today, and I had another thought. I think it can ALL be blamed on the media.

What's the first major conspiracy theory you can think of? I'm talking when the conspiracy was put forth, not the actual time that the events occured.

The first one that comes to my mind is the USS Maine and the lead up to the Spanish-American War. Which we know was perpetuated completely by the media and their brand of Yellow Journalism.

I think that's where it started.

Wellllllll idk. The media definitely plays a part in it, but I think most of this rests in people's own imaginations. People like to make things up in their head due to curiosity and suspicious events. The media just perpetuates this and lends to it.

I'm sure the media is responsible for making them widespread/well-known. No doubt there's always been one or two people that have had their own theories on things.

But can you think of a major conspiracy theory that was put forth before mass media came into play?
