What do you call it? I know people from different areas call it different things. Just wanted to see what the most popular term was that everyone uses.

*sighs* here we go again.

I will call things like pepsi, coke and dr pepper a POP.

But things with soda in their name a SODA. (Big K orange soda, grape soda, etc)

They all started out in SODA POP fountains, so they're both correct. What I don't understand is in the south you walk in and ask for a coke, they say what kind... uh dr pepper!

That has to be confusing.

Coke. When I want a Sprite (or whatever store brand my parents happen to buy), I ask for one of my cokes. They know what I mean.

soda. where's peter? don't they call it something completely different in England?

I voted other. I just call it whatever the brand is, Irn Bru, Fanta, Sprite, Coke whatever. In certain parts of England though, mainly in the midlands and up north, they do seem to call it pop.

So if you pull up to a drive thru window and wanted a diet sprite, you would order a coke? :dunno

If your husband was going to the fridge and asked if you wanted something to drink, would you ask for a coke? And would he bring you a coke or any type of soda he wanted to since coke means any carbonated soft drink?

You southerners are a crazy bunch.... you can keep your crazy cuz were all filled up here. :D
