being a new mother with a new baby is not only physically draining, but emotional and mentally draining as well.

Especially for brand new mothers who are figuring things out for the very first time.
Isn't that the truth! #2 and #3 were so much easier after child #1. Child #1 is always the guinea pig. hehe. :)

Well, whats better at cheering people up than a little bit of humor? The only way to get over a bad time is to think of the good times, past, present or future.

Hell, don't worry about cheering her up now :) she has been gone for over 3 hours now. She called and said she is meeting her best friend for a drink, so she is more than ok now. Plus she knows that the baby is settled down and she won't be walking in on a crying baby. I told her to stay out as long as she wants.

What are you talking about Heather? My boy won't be crying when you see him. He's a good boy, he was just having a rough day today. :)

Quit telling lies... Just keep this in mind. This will be the easiest time of raising your child, hands down.
Well I dunno about you... but those were some hard times for me. Plus, you didnt have to go thru the whole post-partum thing. My boys are 8 and 5 now and I am at a happier state of mind. :)

I also forgot to mention the white noise thing...but see Tim had tried that out. That was one thing we did when our boys were fussy too. We had a cd with some ocean waves and that sometimes helped them quiet down. Or you can just turn the am radio on to static. :) Glad you got some time to yourself Alicia...I hope your feeling better now.

I do feel better now, thanks everyone :). When Tim came home I was in tears and left right away lol. I just needed to get away for a little. And it felt so good to actually get out and have a drink and not worry about anything. haha although I could only have one drink b/c I really started to feel it...and I didn't even finish the whole thing. I could have stayed out longer, but I felt that I should be home...plus it was going on 9pm, which is late for me haha.

Ah, just seen this.

I never had the tears with my son as a baby, except when he had cholic. He screamed and screamed for hrs then, for about 4 weeks on the trot. He always ate a lot too lol he had some cholic drops, (but if you do that, check with yr dr first) then it eased up and he was OK after that.

I have had tears since though at times - he is my world, but he drives such a hard bargain lol. He got worse from about 6yrs. At the same time, he has a heart of gold - the good will always out-weigh the bad.

Babies when crying a lot, is hard work, but you and Tim seem to have such a lovely, happy relationship and understanding of eachother, so the way you are doing things, sounds just right to me - both of you. :)
