LOL i love the discouragement. In all seriousness why do you all keep saying im BSing. You have no proof at all that i ever was BSing. Im telling you where you can find proof, and if your not willing to prove me wrong you cant talk.

The recruiters also told me they will not let me leave bootcamp. they wont give up on me or anything. He told me if i really want to go home, they will gather a platoon of like 20 people who want to leave, and have them watch a graduation which he said is amazing on paris island. He said after most watch the graduation they are encouraged enough to stay.

I don't trust recruiters at all. They are there for one reason: Get fresh bodies.

Look, Like i said earlier, just keep up with the education and go to colloege, live out your youth and get a career you will love doing. This is just a suggestion, what you will do with it is up to you.

you are talking to a kid that needs something like the millitary to put him on the right path in life maybe not the usmc but something like it , if he's telling the truth it may save him from himself because on the streets he knows where he's heading.;)

Your recruiter forgets about you the moment you get on that bus for the airport dude.

Graduation is an amazing thing and one of the most proudest moments of my life (the first being the birth of my son, the second graduating from college).

I hope you do straighten yourself out and become a contributing member of society, whether its in the Marines or whatever. Here's my favorite saying "Man the fuck up".

I'm not denying that the military can straighten kids out, I know a few that have been. Although, I just see potential in him getting an education and going to college without the risk of being shipped overseas.

Dont talk until you drive down to baltimore.

Anyway's, i got a good score on the pre screening. So theres no chance ill goto iraq you know. The main reason i want to do this, is because i want my parent's and future kids to be proud of me. My mom has waited a long time to put an honor roll bumper sticcer on her car and she never got one. When parents brag about their kids she cant. I understand that iev been a bad kid, i understand exactly what my mom feel's. So when some kids mother tells my mom "My kid doing great in college he goes to harvard..etc..etc.." my mom can say "My son is in the marine's". Doesnt even need to say anything more then that.

When i die, i dont want to be remembered as a criminal. I want to be remembered as a good father, a good soldier, and a great husband. I just want my seed's to be proud of me. I just want my mom to be able to look down on me, watch over me, and be proud of me. My mother's other kids have made her proud, ones a doctor the other is a teacher. And this one isnt a criminal. By the way, i wont be able to post for the next 2 or 3 day's. THE WIFREYS COMING BAC!

Great point. Ever heard the phrase "Every Marine a rifleman"?

I had one of the "smart jobs". That sure as hell didn't stop me from standing guard at the north gate to Camp Fallujah for 2.5 months. Spending 9 hours of every day looking out for IED planters/wondering if the next vehicle that drives up is a car bomb/searching the vehicle that may be a car bomb/taking cover from incoming mortars/dodging random sniper fire/and of course you'll never know for sure if you got the one Iraqi Army soldier at your post who decides he wants to be a terrorist. And then getting up the next day to do it all over again.

Your MOS doesn't matter, you'd be a Marine first and foremost, and Marines fight when it's called for. Plain and simple. Do NOT disillusion yourself.

Here. I quoted myself so you could see it. Maybe you'll read it this time.

Join the peace corps. :^D

That's not a bad idea if this kid Killa really wants to make his momma proud.
Not to mention he might gain some useful skills to get a civillian job later in life. And he might find if he broadened his scope he could help folks who are in much worse shape than himself. In other words, he might really grow up whereas his chance to grow up after basic training are reduced when he has to fight for his life in gunfire.

The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspiration grew an agency of the federal government devoted to world peace and friendship.
Since that time, more than 187,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have been invited by 139 host countries to work on issues ranging from AIDS education to information technology and environmental preservation.
Today's Peace Corps is more vital than ever, working in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development, and committing more than 1,000 new Volunteers as a part of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Peace Corps Volunteers continue to help countless individuals who want to build a better life for themselves, their children, and their communities.
There's quite a bit to learn about the Peace Corps—explore the following sections to get to know its mission, history, and current endeavors in depth:

That makes you grow the hell up in a millisecond.

Peace Corps isn't a bad option, I just want to make the point that everything you said can be done in the Marine Corps.

the peace corps is fine for some people but it's not what this kid needs and the millitary will also give him some collage to if he wants to better him self even more , hell and at least he'll get paid in the millitary do you get paid in the peace corps , if i was his dad i wouldn't push the usmc on him but if thats what he really wanted to do i wouldn't stand in his way , like i said see the world go navy , you can even do some of your collage courses on the boat .
