I have limited expence or i would just buy a home workwork gym like boflex and there isn't a gym near me. I already run a mile a day so i'm not worried about my legs that much

I got a Total Gym about 3 years ago and I still have my Tae-Bo tapes from 10 years ago. Those both seem to do the job.

As far as weights, when I started lifting I did 10 reps per arm, then 10 more per arm until I felt a little weak.....then I would try a different position and do 10 more per arm. It seemed to work out alright since I was working every muscle a different way...

reps of what? Theres so many thing you can do with a dumbbell, if you get one more you can expand your options even more. Maybe buy a couple different weights so you can build on your reps.

Working out is all about setting goals. Are you looking to build strength, endurance, size, shape, etc...?

How much weight, how many reps, what order to do things in, all depends on your goals, your current condition, and where you stand genetically.

What are your goals? Are you planning on only working your arms and running? You can get into great shape with isometrics and cardio, but you won't get really big. You'll need to use more than 25lbs weights for any significant bulk gain.

Diet is important. You need protein to build muscle.

An easy, genaric rule of thumb is: "Lots of reps, low weight for definition and endurance. Low reps, high weight for strength and size."

There is a ton of info out there, but first you need to know where you want to end up. After you get that figured out, run down to your local GNC, or grocery store, and pick up some muscle / performance mags. They're a good place to start, and they'll be packed full of internet links to more helpful information.

Good luck!!!

First bit of actul good information that I could use, Thanks. I'm right now trying just to build up strength for my arms, 25 is pretty low yes and it isn't that heavy for me. having no gym is the main issue in my area.. I'm thinking of ordering something but I may just go out and buy a set of 40lbs at wal mart in a while after i get completely used to the 25lbs

Meaning most of what we all post on this forum goes "in one ear and out the other!"

Hey Lemon. Good to see you too. Life gets too busy to spend as much time here as I'd like, but I try to poke in from time to time.

I'm a watcher. :lol
