I think fewer people read books these days due to the rise of digital media, which offers quicker, more interactive entertainment. Social media, streaming services, and video games compete for attention, while busy lifestyles leave little time for reading. Plus, instant gratification is more prevalent now, making long-form reading less appealing.

I totally agree. In the past, books were only the medium for pleasure, therefore, reading was the primary pass time activity. With the advent of radio and TV, reading culture deteriorated but it was not completely replaced. But the rise of internet and video gaming completely destroyed reading habit.

When it comes to this generation, i think they have become really distracted with social media and the likes, hence they no longer care about reading books.

Fewer people read books today because of screen distractions and busy schedules. I’ve noticed myself reaching for short videos or social media instead of books. Digital content is quicker, but it often lacks the depth and reflection books provide.
