Ever break any bones ? What happened ?

I broke my collar bone playing hockey when I was a teenager. I got hit into the boards and thought I was okay. Did one more shift and could not even hold my stick. It was awful. I had to sleep sitting up for like six weeks. No homework though. So 1/2 worth it.

When I was about 5 I fell off the bottom bunk bed and hit it just right and broke my collarbone. As a 5 year old, being in a back brace was TORTURE. I finally got out of the back brace and was so excited to be able to go outside and play w/ the other kids again...was running and I slipped and fell and broke it again in the same spot. :(

Also broke my arm on Christmas Day when I was in 6th grade. I was running down a hill, tripped, and landed half on and half off the concrete patio. And I had just gotten a bike for Christmas, too. :(

Didn't break my ankle, but I did sprain it and tear some tendons and ligaments. As bad as that hurt, I can't imagine what it feels like to break your ankle!!! That one I did when I was at work at Chick-fil-a. I was carrying the tea canister to the back to wash it out and rolled my ankle on the floor that had just been mopped.

On a side note, my family has had so many broken bones that when we would get off the elevator at our orthopedic's office we wouldn't get asked "what happened"...we would get asked "which one of you is it THIS time???"

My wrist was greenstick fractured (where the bone bends and then partially breaks in a child) twice before I was five. My dad had picked me up and was trying to swing me around him to his back. He didn't noticed my arm got stuck under his arm. He did noticed when I started to cry. I'm not sure what happened the other time but I think a family friend's child acidentally hurt me.

I also fell off a bunk bed when I was 11 and separated my shoulder and broke my upper arm near the shoulder joint. I was in a sling forever several months after that.

When I was 5 I broke my elbow right at the joint because of falling off the top bunk.
When I was 10 I broke my forearm because of being thrown from a horse. Broke it again right before I was supposed to get the cast off...that really sucked!
I've broke multiple toes and a finger as well.

Only bone I've ever broken was my right wrist, both bones. Well, smashed one completely into bitty pieces and cleanly broke the other.

I was about 13 or 14. Riding my bike with a friend down the lake road. In the middle of the road as no cars were coming. I was behind my friend, saw a car coming, we both shifted to move off the road at the same time, my front tire locked onto her back tire and I went flying off into the middle of the lane, flipped my hands out to break my fall--and there you go. Broken wrist. Almost got hit by that car too, and they didn't stop to see if I was okay. Had a horrible bump on my wrist, could totally tell it was broken. Parents took me to the ER, the Dr. wouldn't do anything because "I was a girl". He told me that if I would have been a boy that he would have set it but I was a girl, so I'd scream too much. Sent me to a specialist. Was in a cast over my elbow (so I couldn't bend my elbow) for like, 7 weeks.

Never been on a bike since. :D

My pinkie and ring fingers on my right hand were fractured once when I was turning out a weanling back in 1998. He was feeling frisky and decided to take off before I took the lead rope off his halter. The rope slid through my hand and it was the knot at the end of the rope that did the damage. I didn't realize I was injured that bad at first. I went and caught the colt and got the lead rope. Then I fininshed morning turn out. At that point my hand was hurting pretty bad and I told my co-worker what happened. He suggested I wrap my hand with some cotton between my fingers. At that point I was near tears and when he saw me struggling with the cotton he thought that maybe it might be worse than "Serena hurt her fingers". He called the division manager and I was taken to the clinic where they did x-rays and saw the fractures.

The doctor was a bit of a dimwit, IMO. At first she didn't want to believe that I had fractured fingers because I wasn't showing any pain. What did she want? For me to be writhing on the ground screaming? Yeah, it hurt but I wasn't going to go around blubbering like an idiot. It takes a lot to make me cry anyway. I have a pretty high pain threshold. :D

Broke a finger when it rolled up backward. Had a motor flip over while working on it pinning my ring finger against the side of a truck. a couple of fractured ribs from playing football. I have had some back issues too.

not sure if I ever broke a bone

might have broke a finger. I was probably about 10 years old. We had a little league practice and I was playing third base. Batter hit a pop up in foul territory and I tripped over the bag and fell flat on my stomach. Ball landed on my hand :D

I did a major league dislocation of a finger tossing my daughter up in a swimming pool though which was pretty ugly. She landed and it caught my little finger which was literally bent sideways. I was already drunk so I got out of the pool and twisted it back into position and went back to the hotel room and put it on ice and then really got wasted. :D

years ago we were playing hockey when my brother in law got hurt. I forget the specifics but we were playing on a pond and his ankle got hurt. He was able to walk on it so I said it was nothing to worry about. I always thought if you broke a bone in your leg you could not walk on it. Well I was wrong on that one as he broke the ankle I found out the next morning.

Not much at diagnosing things like that anymore :D

I broke my femur and ran on it for a bit before I realised something was seriously wrong. Amazing what adrenalin and a concussion will do.

I'm pretty accident prone but I only managed to break my arm once when I was about 4, genuinely not a clue if that age is even within the vicinity of what age I was. I was playing on fisher price roller skates, the ones that you kept your shoes on and strapped the skates on. They got caught in a crack in the pavement and I must have landed funny. I don't really remember it tbh.

My brother is the broken bones member of our family.
