Chick Fil A faces back lash for presidents views on Family Values

I think there is a general idea that protesting is a waste of time. To me that's a rather bitter way of looking at the world. I see a lot of people mocked for signing petitions, for the occupy wall street movement...but that's merely one way people can get their voice out there, even a muffled voice. There are many more powerful ways individuals can make a difference but I'm not going to put down people if they don't dedicate their lives to a cause.

So what you are saying is, don't ever protest anything since we live in a global economy and everything is tied to everything in a way.

Don't protest low wages because your shoes were made in a sweat shop.
Don't protest Chick-fil-A because a percentage of your gas may have come from a nation that may have killed a homosexual
Don't protest companies that pollute because your electricity comes in part from coal fired plants
Don't protest blah blah blah, because blah

Yeah, yeah yeah, everything can be tied to everything. It doesn't make you a hypocrite for disagreeing with a company owner who happened to bring his company under fire for opening his mouth.

Its hypocritical. Disagreeing is fine, but if you REALLY were for the cause of bettering homosexuals you wouldent buy Gas, which would fund the police of the middle east hunting the homos

WTF are you talking about?

I am not trying to better homosexuals.

I do not agree with what the owner of Chick-fil-A said and in response I will not spend my money there. It's as simple as that. It's not like I'm saving a gay by not spending my money there.

And if you really want to know, I haven't spent a single dime on gas for the past 6 years. So I guess I'm not a hypocrite. :D

And they should get out of the driver licensing as well, right?
And business licenses
And every other license...

:sarcasm

Can you point to anytime in the history of this country where they even thought for a moment that the state shouldn't license such things? Please, I'll wait.
You have this absolute minimalist view of the world where everybody should just hold hands and sing songs. That organized government is the bain of our society and everyone should just do as they please.
As much as I think Minor is wrong with the nanny state, I think you are just as wrong with you non existent government.

Don't you know, anarchy brings out the best in all of us. :D

Wait you think I'm WRONG? About what? It depends upon what you think, I think is a nanny state as compared to you. I do think government needs to be involved, if you want consistency. It's either laws or it's hard core education and that is not coming from local citizens groups, although I recently read about a town in Minnesota, New Ulm, who supposedly turned the health of their general populace around, but wait that was government too.
