Video at the link.

the kids are to face "disciplinary action" ?? these fuckers need to learn some respect towards older citizens along with a good dose of an ass beating.

If i EVER found out my kids are acting like this to an older individual, and being as fucking cruel as these little shits, i swear to god, they would forever know the meaning of an ass beating, they'd have nightmares over it LOL

on the more serious side, is this what the youth has come to? Really??? i mean being such little shits, disrespectful and so fucking rude? and the bus driver? why didn't he/she do anything about this?

This literally made my lose my appetite right before i was to go to lunch...

I just got done reading about this on CBS and then watching the youtube video ...

There seems to be a sense of entitlement and invincibility among many of today's youth that has reached extreme levels. There is absolutely no fear among these types and I think that has a lot to do with school officials (or anyone else who deals with kids) being fearful of the parental train wreck that will follow actually STOPPING these bully types from doing what they are doing. Fortunately, these kids are not bright enough to hide the evidence of their vicious harassment and instead post their videos giving this woman in this story the evidence of their nasty, disgusting and out-of-control behavior. Now, the parents of these kids can't back-peddle and demand evidence that their sweet little child is doing something so wrong.

I can't help but feel that this is an American social downfall that continues to grow in this nation. The whole, "It isn't wrong if you don't get caught." Just from personal observation, this seems to be a real issue that is continually growing. Had the idiots in this story not have taped their harassment, nothing would have probably came from it and these kids would have grown up knowing that they can get away with overly selfish acts as long as they don't get caught.

This society would do a lot better if RESPECT was taught and considered more ... not just respect for elders or authority ... but a general, mutual respect for everyone.

It's not all bad, look at the great individuals that have come forward with support for her. She has been offered vacations, nearly up to $500,000, she refuses to press any charges against them. Remember junior high age is the worst ages of all. I too hated the video but with all the attention this has gotten those kids will be disciplined.......

Little pricks, this shows that respect isn't being taught anymore. I'd of never dared to do that shit to anyone.

Yeah, heard about that, didn't watch the video though. Poor woman.
I guess some of it was the herd mentality, but some good parenting could've done wonders.

On a happier note - there's half a million dollars that people donated for her because of this.

and...
"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is foolishness with them. As for the girls, they are forward, immodest and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress."
-Peter the Hermit, 13th Century AD
"The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, they show disrespect to their elders.... They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers."
-Socrates, 5th century BC

What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?"
-Plato,5th century BC

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words... When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly wise [disrespectful] and impatient of restraint"
-Hesiod, 8th century BC

Take god and discipline out of the schools and homes and this is what you get.

What the hell does God have anything to do with this?

Do you think that this would have happened in Godless China? There is no way in hell.
What about Japan? Again, there is no way in hell they would have disrespected their elders.

It has Nothing to do with God and everything to do with parents teaching their children respect.

This.
I don't think there is any need to throw God into the mix. Being a religious person doesn't make you a good person - doing your best by yourself and by others makes you a good person.
You can teach a child morals, respect, kindness and common sense without having to dangle God over his/her head.

I gather from reading that there were 4 boys who did this? Two already apologized, while the 3d's dad made the apology. Nothing from the 4th so far.
And look, I don't, for a second, believe that something like this didn't happen 10-20-50 years ago. Difference is, you couldn't put it up on the internet back then.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think this is anything new or isolated to a particular place.

Honestly, teenagers can be assholes, nothing surprising there. Don't you guys remember Middle School? Kids will do crazy shit when they perceive weakness in their teachers or other authority figures at school. A few bad apples can rope kids who wouldn't normally act like assholes into the herd mentality.

It's a sad thing that happened, but not really all that shocking.

I agree and I think the only difference is that we are hearing about it much more thanks to the Internet and social media.

I saw it broadcast on the news here this morning.

It was pretty rough. it actually made me tear up a little. I was laways taught to respect my elders no matter what. I think those boys need a few more lessons like that.

Oh im also on board for public humiliation on their part. Embarrass the hell out of them like they did that lady.

i keep telling everyone this... god has nothing to do with that it is all about the shitty parenting that is taking place... and the lack of discipline at home or pretty much anywhere for that matter.

I don't honestly remember being or witnessing such blatant viciousness against an adult when I was in Middle School ... of course the ramifications were probably a little more sever then. But yes, teenagers have and probably always be nasty creatures (at times) ... and I do remember seeing such behavior towards other peers.

Fortunately, these type of idiots seem to capture such events on their camera phones and posting it on either Youtube or Facebook and end up being caught for their actions.

I'm sure it did happen years ago and like someone said...we just didn't have the internet back then.

I know this isn't to the level we're speaking here but this happened in my family recently:

the day after our wedding (so 2 weeks tomorrow) there were still 25 or so people around our summer place, camping and extending their vaca.

Supper was being served and there was a huge variety...meatballs, lasagna, turkey, ham, salads, fish, hamburgers and hot dogs and plenty of everything. My 11 year old niece wanted to go 5 miles down the road to the take out place for chicken fingers. Her mother, exhausted from the busy week, told her no, there was plenty available..to just have what's made.

My niece kept it up and hounded her parents and grandparents, and they all agreed, there was enough available, she didn't need to go anywhere else...well, she flipped. She told everyone they were fucking idiots, she hated them, they all were so mean to here, and told her grandmother (who is beyond good to these kids) that she's a fucking dummy and she fucking hates her and shoved her and stomped out (my niece was cursing like that).

She was in her room for the night and her parents left early the next morning.

The grandparents (my parents in law) live down the street and get the kids off to school in the mornings, make breakfast for them, have lunch ready, etc. When my niece arrived, they told her she wasn't allowed in until she apologized....she lost it again and said she didn't owe anyone an apology. It's 2 weeks now and she STILL hasn't said sorry and she's still not allowed in her grandparents' house.

It's becoming a huge family issue, everyone is taking sides and discussing it in great detail and arguments are developing among everyone...some say it should just blow over and some say she should be made apologize, and she's sitting back laughing thinking she's going to get her way - which, sadly, she probably will.

THAT is a huge lack of respect and if it does just "blow over" she'll only get worse, knowing she can get away with things like this. I don't think she's the only kid 'out there' these days that behaves this way and THAT is why people like this bus driver and other 'strangers' get the harassment they do...it's not stopped at home, so they feel they are allowed to behave this shitty way.

You know, I read an opinion article on this topic that had a perspective I hadn't thought of. This woman was suppose to be a school bus monitor. When you think of it.....she wasn't doing her job. YES, their treatment was dispicable...but she also never really talked to them in an authoritative was either............

Just another perspective.........I think she should not be in this position with this age group.

This :thumbup

If your kids have no respect at home and shown by the parents who should be the examples what you get is what you saw on the video

Ya know, Aeval, your niece is a twit. She's having a ball because she knows the family is divided over this. If she were my daughter, she wouldn't see daylight until the swelling went down. Okay, not that severe, but, she wouldn't be going anywhere without damned good reason. She sounds pretty spoiled, so some of the blame can be laid at her parents' feet. (Assuming that she IS spoiled) Grandma and Grandpa are right to not allow her in their house prior to an apology. She should be made to (as much as possible) publicly apologize to those she blew up at.
The food choices you listed are more than plenty and most of it is food that kids love!

Yea, I noticed that too.

Also, that group of kids could have been the bad apples whereas the others on the bus were fine and behaved themselves. There are mean kids and nice kids.
