is it possible the deceased did nothing wrong? do we know if the guy had a history with the father, seems to me he (the father) could have had a pre-existing reason to want the guy dead, we will never know

Only problem is the guy was found with his pants down and he was on top of the girl and the hospital confirmed she had been molested. You are not going to suggest that after the beating the father took down the guys pants and also attacked his own child are you?

People tend to forget that there is a difference between a pedophile and a rapist.
If the medial exam on the girl showed penetration, the story holds. If no penetration is shown, some things in the story don't make a lot of sense such as if the hired hand could see the man taking the girl by force, the man taking the girl would also be able to see the other hired hand. Next question would be why the hired hand didn't run to the direct rescue of the girl if he knew she was being taken away force?
Monday morning quarter backing I know, but questions on the story do come to mind.
But, I'm certain they are all professionals in Texas, so no questions need to be asked.

Ultimately, one should not do any kind of killing in anger unless they're using that anger as a suppressant for fear. That's why YOU don't give me enough credit and automatically think I would neutralize a cop if the cop killed my dog on my property.
my instinct as a mother is to join in here and say YES! i would beat the shit out of that man with any object i could find and the anger over the idea of someone sexually assaulting my daughters makes me want to believe i could/WOULD beat them to death.

I think the person should be tried to see if that was actually the case, there are so many cases where this was the "excuse" to kill or harm people. Yes, no one can say how they would react if they caught someone harming their child.
If the person was found to be harming the child, the fate of that person who kills the pedo should be left to what the law has laid down. I agree that sometimes the law sucks, but that is sod's law unfortunately

The Grand Jury looks at all the evidence to see if there is a reason to bring charges--they didn't find enough evidence to lean that way.
Also, I've read that the dad was very upset that he ended up killing the man. They did call 911 and they were trying to save the guy. Again, that could just have been them "covering" up. BUT I do not think this was a purposeful killing, I think it was a total and complete accident, and I think that the Grand Jury came back with the right decision in this case, based on the few little things I've heard about it--and I'm sure they had much more evidence at their disposal than we have.

Fair enough, but there is a lot of people who would keep silent about this, which I think is wrong. Not saying about this in this case, but there are cases where parents have got their children to lie about being abused by other people
yes thats true and ive dealt with such an allegation first hand. its different when a parent WALKS in ON it happening rather than all after the fact which is why this particular case is different. he was in the right to protect his child and i cant even say its a shame things went to far. though i do feel bad that the father feels bad about it
I'm not dragging out my family business, but I can promise you that there is one sick motherfucker in this world who, if I could get my hands on him, wouldn't hurt another young girl EVER. I hope he's getting bent over every single night in prison and I hope it hurts.
