I'm not "worked up"... It's an observance...

LOL You cared enough to post a thread about it and wish for a lightning strike, IJS

Seriously, dude, you should just chill out sometimes and think about some positive shit.

The guy has a contract Dana

He will take any window of opportunity to fulfill it. Unless this is a small complex and the owner was doing the work.

And I would be willing to bet it was a gas powered trimmer. I have never seen a contractor doing apartment complexes using electricity.

If this was a residence and it was electric power I might be with ya. Not likely though as even with electric one can use caution and be safe as long as there is not standing water. A GFI would do the trick to ensure one does not get fried.

Contract? I wouldn't go that far... This apartment is a shit hole and saying he's under contract is giving the slumlord too much credit.

What he said... Honestly, I'm not the only one who gripes constantly but I get the most flack... I don't get it personally.

I don't know how to respond w/o it coming out wrong, so I'll just say that in life I tend to avoid people who always look at the negatives instead of the positives. It's something I tell my own mother all the time.

The example I always give is this...I was in Washington, DC on my 4th day of on 8 day NYC/DC vacation. My feet were killing me and I *literally* had blisters on top of blisters. I was in a lot of pain and started whining...until I realized that A) I was on an amazing 8 day vacation and B) having blisters on my feet from doing too much walking meant I was fortunate enough to have the use of my legs and not be wheelchair-bound. It's all about perception, IMO.

Yeah... Interesting way of looking at things... I'll give you that ;) I'd still bitch my feet hurt. I'm always appreciative that I'm not worse off than I am. That doesn't mean, I still can't gripe. Griping doesn't mean I'm being negative.

Damn where were you when I was in DC bitching about all the walking

You make a very valid point

Something we all probably need to work on.

ha ha...I remember how much my feet hurt walking around DC. The national mall was so much bigger than I imagined. I also got a glimpse of the president when he was doing a press conference in the rose garden. That was such a fun trip.

Yeah, we made the mistake of reading a "walking tour" book about Arlington that said you couldn't FULLY see the cemetery w/o doing a walking tour. Mind you, that was after having done a shit ton of walking in NYC already (we were staying off 8th street and walked to 67th in our first couple of hours there, LOL). It's a lot of walking and can wear on your legs and feet BAD even if you're in excellent physical condition (which I was NOT at the time). But I choose to look on the positive side. ;)

Griping doesn't mean I'm being negative.

Sure it does. You're focusing on making negative/critical comments about people rather than shrugging it off as "people will be people".

There are a LOT of stupid people in the world... I think it's a lot funnier to laugh at their mistakes rather than get caught up in things that don't affect me :)

You know believe it or not, I don't gripe a lot offline. I'm usually the one telling others lifes too short to get mad over stupid bullshit; so in turn, I think maybe I let my gripes out on here with really thinking about it before hand. If you spent time with my family you would know why I tend to gripe a lot online.

most people would... but I have my doubts that they're intelligent enough to make that decision which kinda makes it funny in a sad pathetic sort of way.

That's extremely judgemental of you and I'll be honest and say, I am not a fan of judgemental people. Why would you have your doubts that they are intelligent enough when you don't know anything about them?

Dana...do you think the guy would have been able to stop had it started raining?
Couldnt someone say...its not raining now..someone needs to go weed eat that shit?
Should I leave my car windows up while driving around, because it could rain...kind of the same thing.

I am judgmental... Everyone is. I'm sorry but they are even you. Why would I say so? Because I see the people in my area everyday. I witness the stupidity first hand. The man that owns the apartment next door is a slum lord, what type of individuals do you think he's going to get to work for him? Not an upstanding business that he can't fuck over.

Yea, I've walked up and down Avenue of the Americas a few times just for the sake of it lol.

One of my friends in the city said that tourists usually do a completely outrageous amount of walking in NY. They'll see the statue of liberty, go to times square, see the empire state building, then walk to the brooklyn bridge. lol.

You could always take the subway too! Very convenient.
