A week or two ago I ordered a couple of things off of Amazon, one of those being Season 1 of Southland. I received 2 packages and my first thought was that they had sent the gift I ordered to my address instead. I opened the packages to check and see and they had sent me 2 copies of the Southland DVD set. So I e-mailed Amazon and they sent me a return address label for it.

I tossed it in a UPS drop box the day after Valentines and didn't think anything about it. I just checked my bank account to make sure a charge had gone through at the convenience store tonight and I'll be damned if there isn't a fucking REFUND from Amazon for the Southland DVD set!!!

WTF!?!?!? I try to be an honest person and do the right thing and Amazon is determined to continue making mistakes in my favor.

All one can say is that it appears to be a serendipitous affair. Perhaps someone is trying to say you should let the mistakes happen ;)

Then again, you don't strike me as the type of person who would accept that as you seem too honest.

You should have just kept it, probably more hassle then it's worth for a huge company like Amazon anyway to be taking the money back and collecting parcels

You're probably right...but a very dear friend of mine keeps telling me that karma is keeping a tab and good things are coming my way. I don't want to go fucking w/ that. :24: Last time I returned something that didn't belong to me (an extra $20 spit out by the ATM) I received a check for $3000 from a family friend for Christmas.

LOL I never get that lucky with anything i buy online LOL

My last experience with amazon was when i bought a video game that was released on my birthday :D
I pre ordered something like 6 months in advance and like teh week before the game was released i realized i needed to change the address in the account or the charge would be declined, i logged in the day before the game was released and made the change, it went through just fine but somehow they decided to ship the package to my moms house...

how did they figure out my moms address is beyond me as I had requested that the package be shipped to my new address but meh, i got my self-bought xmass present and i was happy!

That is the epitome of integrity, Tasha. Doing what is right, even when nobody is watching.

Well done. :)

*sigh* I swear, it's more frustrating trying to do the right thing than it is to just not give a fuck. :24:

Because the refund was already processed, they can't take it back out. So instead they asked for permission to charge my account the $9.99 I paid for the DVD set and just take a loss on the shipping costs. So I still come out $3 ahead. At least my conscience is clear, LOL I'm surprised at how many people have told me I should've just kept the extra DVD set.

I don't see karma as a factor in this. It's quite common in business to "comp" something when an error is made. Them refunding you the price for the hassle of having to return something you did not order is WORTH the $10 as a gesture of goodwill, at least for many companies. Not much different that say, a restaurant comping your meal if they overcook it and had to re-make it for you.

I've made $100 dollars extra this year from ATMs screwing up :dunno

She isn't saying that getting "comped" is a factor of karma. She is saying trying to be a good person, and return an item that she didn't pay for is good for karma. Try to keep up. ;)

and she's right. Karma is keeping a tab.
