[h=1]'I just shot the man': Boy, 14, kills intruder after gang of FOUR men try to break into house where he was home alone with his sister[/h]By PAUL THOMPSON

Yet another teen has used deadly force to protect his home from intruders.

Police in North Carolina revealed a 14-year-old boy shot dead an intruder attempting to break into his home while he and his sister were alone.

The teen opened fire with a shotgun while his 17-year-old sister hid in a closet as a gang of men attempted to smash their way into their home.

Culprits: Michael Henderson, left, was shot dead by the teen and Andrew Terry fled the scene but was later captured

The incident took place two days before 18-year-old Sarah McKinley shot and killed an intruder breaking into her home in Oklahoma

While on the phone with 911, the young mother shot and killed one of the intruders with a 12-gauge shotgun after he forced his way inside her home.

The teen, who was told to do what she could to protect her three-month-old baby, has been flooded with messages of praise from well wishers.

In the North Carolina incident, police said the 14-year-old and his sister were at home in the rural town of Henderson when four men tried to break into the house.

article-2082698-0F59304800000578-264_468x286.jpgScene: A 14-year-old Henderson boy calmly described in a 911 call how he shot an intruder in a home invasion last week

article-2082698-0F592FB700000578-823_468x286.jpgScene: Authorities said Michael Anthony Henderson Jr, 19, broke into the home at 586 S. Lynnbank Road on Thursday he and his 17-year-old sister were home

Michael Anthony Henderson Jr, 19, was shot dead.

He staggered away from the house and collapsed where he was found by police.

His brother Seneca, 20, and one other man Andrew Terry, 23, have already been charged in the case.

Police are still searching for a third man named as 21-year-old Jatwaun Davis.

[h=2]'I just shot the man. He came around the corner. I shot him. He broke the whole glass out.[/h][h=2]'I don't know how many it was who broke in. Just one came around the corner. I got one more in the chamber. I'm going to shoot again'[/h]
Investigators released a 911 call with the teen calmly describing how he shot the intruder.

In the call, the teen, says: 'I just shot the man. He came around the corner. I shot him. He broke the whole glass out (of the back door).'

He continues: 'I don't know how many it was (who broke in). Just one came around the corner. I got one more in the chamber. I'm going to shoot again,' the boy said.

'Do not, while I’m on the phone, do not fire that firearm, OK?' the dispatcher says

'What if another one comes in the house, ma'am?' he asked.

'Let me know, OK, if you see anybody. I will let you know (when a deputy gets to the house),' the dispatcher responded.

As the boy and his sister waited for deputies to arrive, he told the dispatcher that he was 'perfectly fine', but his sister was 'really shaken up'.

The boy even asks about the condition of the intruder.

'He's still outside. He's unconscious. I'm not sure if he's still living or not,' the dispatcher said.

'They only found one outside. Are you not sure how many it was?'

'I'm not sure how many it was, but when I shot, I didn't hear anybody running,' he said.

The teen's sister is earlier heard on a call to an emergency dispatcher saying someone was banging on the door trying to get in.

She tells the operator she is hiding in a closet but that her brother has a gun.

Police said the teen will not face any charges for killing Michael Henderson on December 29.

Under North Carolina's Castle Doctrine Law, homeowners can use deadly force if they fear their lives are in danger.

The family has declined to comment since the shooting.

Maybe if enough people defend themselves and shoot these clowns it will thin the populace of such thugs.

These two latest examples just show how people have no respect for life. When faced with a gun ones instinct should be to turn and run but these thugs just don't have any sense of mortality. Tis the same reason they can so easily take a life senselessly.

I was just amazed that the castle laws in PA have changed. They have now been extended to not just your home, but anyplace you are. You no longer need to try to retreat if faced with danger. You can stand your ground and shoot to kill if need be. The castle law will protect you from charges and lawsuits.
It was so aggressive that the NRA tried to block it.....

ahhh...did they have time to turn and run? From what I read the intuder came around the corner and he fired.

Who cares?

4 guys try to break into your home with only your 14 year old son and 17 year old daughter and you're asking if the 14 year old gave the guys time to run?:24:

I'd have a talk with that boy and tell him to wait for a couple more to walk around the corner so he could lay more out.

Boy did good, make a father proud protecting his sister.

Here is where we part on the topic. I have absolutely no problem with this boy defending himself and shooting the intruder. But to say he should have waited for more to enter before shooting... that's over the top.

The goal is protection and self preservation. It is not to see how many people you can kill.
I'm sure this boy is going to have a hard enough time dealing with the fact that he killed another human being. Now you want him to think like a cold hearted killer?

Technically, the boy and girl should of stayed together and take a defensive position, letting the threat come to them (preferably in a locked room, where you have a clear line of fire to the door, with enough space between them and the door so if someone tries to break the door in, you know who you're shooting at). The boy should not also not shoot "blind" when someone walks around the corner without first absolutely know what the target is.

That said, if he would of killed all four, I'd still give him a pat on the back, tell him he did good, and then tell him if he needs a hug and wants to talk about it, I'm there for him.

You never have to feel good about killing.

I agree.

Waiting for more to intrude just to shoot them dead would be grounds for murder.

Probably the kid he shots' mum ....but certainly not you gun toting "wish I could've popped em all" toughies.

I read a comment after the other shooting by another redneck stating he WISHES someone would break in just so he CAN shoot them...and thats where things will get blurred.

I agree....see my statement above. I'll try and find the comment left on the other story.

I don't wish death on anyone.

That said, a man should never mess with another mans property, let alone try to steel it.Geez, what COULD of happened if this 14 year old boy and 17 year old sister DIDN'T have a gun being that there were FOUR intruders illegally breaking and entering into this home?Everyone has a mother, the question is if you lead your life to make her proud or does she treat you like crap so you don't care what she thinks of your actions?

See, I even took the heavy curse words out because I know my mother would not be proud of me using that type of language:D

I'll say what I said elsewhere here...I remember being young and drunk and mistakenly trying to climb through my neighbours window instead of my own one night...glad she wasnt a paranoid gun onwer..and "shot first, asked questions later".
and before you give me "responsible gun owners would know the difference between a drunk and an intruder"..pehaps they would...but a paranoid redneck with a trigger happy finger wouldnt...neither perhaps would an old woman living on her own....or a young teenager...the list goes on.

As leery as I feel about people keeping firearms around the house, I also think that if you don't want to run the risk of getting shot, stabbed or kicked in the balls, don't break into someone else's house. It's not that difficult is it?

I happen to agree with you, and if you would of read my reply to Tim on what I thought the young man should of done, you would of realized that.

However, notice the location of the house per this article? Don't think you pull into the driveway that drunk not realizing your at the wrong house.

Given the set of circumstances I think the young boy still did very well in protecting him and his sister. This story could of played out a very different way if that boy didn't take the action he did and although he has to live with the fact that he killed someone, he can live with the comfort in knowing HE was NOT the one who put him in that position and both he and his sister is still alive.

Something some people people have no comprehension of is the fact that there are bad people in this world who don't care how their actions affect others.

Perhaps the man killed just came along for a joy ride with his friends not realizing they were going to break into a home, I don't know. But the FACT is there were four of them in the wrong home and the man killed was the first around the corner.

The thing we have to remember too, is that this kid and his sisters were probably damn scared. It's a lot harder to make decisions like "well ya know this guy could just be a drunk, maybe I should find out" or " oh wait, this isn't the proper way to do this let me go barricade myself in the room etc" when you feel like your life is in serious danger.

The kid is only 14 too. When I was staying home alone at that age I would shit bricks at every little sound.
