I'm a person who "Tells it like it is" my meaning of this is that I don't hide the facts. Hiding facts from people is lying and I don't like lying. I only do it if I have too. It's not my opinion, when speaking I don't sugar coat anything. I'm as blunt as a sledgehammer and I don't care if I offend people with my candor or bluntness. It has to be said a certain way and I say it that way, no matter what.

I find 'telling like it is' often means 'I'm a bitch, but I still want people to like me, so I'll pretend that my nasty attitude is actually a positive thing'.

Nah. It means "I'm a bitch, I don't give a shit if you like me, and I'm not about to pretend anything just to get you to like me." :D:ninja

I tell it like it is. Not so much on here. I have kept a very low profile.

Okay, there have been a couple of times. I have said something in here and got shunted for it. But to me those peope need to open their minds more and realise life is not sugar coated. I am done with being miss nice girl and those who don't like me in here..... tough!

I am being MORE me from now on!

I don't think there's no problem with expressing your opinion. I usually speak what I believe rather than just agree with everyone.

BUT

I think the main thing is that you can express yourself while at the same time being courteous and filtering what you say.

I totally agree....it makes a difference as they say for what you say and how one says it & the politeness and respect for differing opinion of others should always be maintained. Some people who are more negative and closed minded tend to see & brand those who speak with more politeness as people pleasers when they're really not....:tooth

they teach it to kids, right?!

I have no problems w/ people speaking their minds. It's when they use it as an excuse to be a douchebag that it irks me. You can be outspoken and still be tactful and respectful.

I used to have a friend who claimed to "tell it like it is" and always be "harsh but honest".

Sadly, she used to get offended at everything if it was ever about her. To the point where she would take innocent things you said and be offended by them, pulling out meanings that weren't even there and jumping to conclusions.

Funny how the person who claimed to be "harsh but honest" could never take anything from anyone, even if it wasn't intended to be offensive.

A very strange person in hindsight lol. :(

Jessie Ventura, the former wrestler and Minnesota governer thought he "Tells It Like It Is." It went along with his personality, that's for sure.

I do tell it like it is... Theres only a few ways to perceive certain things. If you're acting like an apparent moron. I'm going to straight up tell you. If you're a drama queen I'll tell you. I had a friend get mad at me for a while because I told her how everybody saw her rants on men. I don't sugarcoat. :)

If someone buys a home with an adjustable variable rate mortgage, other than calling them an idiot, not sure else how to put it LOL

I dont mind people who "tell it like it is" unless they whine like a pussy when other people "tell it like it is" back at them.

lol, which is usually the case!

So so true. :thumbup

The people who really "tell it like it is", don't go around telling people that they "tell it like it is". That phrase is used so often it has lost all meaning. :24:
