Living situation ?

What is your current living situation ? Do you rent ? Have mortgage ? Have a house that is paid for ! Are you happy where you are ? Will you be moving soon ?


Me and the wife bought our house four years ago. Now it is getting small. It is a really neat weird house to live it (exposed beams lots of woodwork). We have been on the fence about moving for a year now or renovation. We love the location and our neighbors. It is 15 minutes from work for the both of us and nice and quite. With a lot of privacy. I am torn as to what I should do.

I have a mortgage - nice house in a culdesac on about a 5/8 acre lot. I am happy where I'm at, but look forward to day care being finished ($1600 - $2000 per month) - a second mortgage :yuk. Once the kids are out of day care and in school, I hope to buy a house that isn't in a cookie cutter neighborhood with a little more land. I hope to be able to design/build my own house someday. I've already finished the basement, added a deck and put up a new split rail fence. About the only thing left to do is remodel the bathrooms. The only bad thing about remodeling right now is that you can't get back what you put into a house due to the economic status.
