Unfortunately I am left siding with Dana. Take a look at many of your "classic" Serial Killers. It usually started with torturing / killing animals.

It's true, rage like that always goes to weaker beings first, and if they have that missing empathy chip, it will easily go to humans.

Some studies have concluded that sociopaths often love animals. Generally, they feel that the while humans and the world treat them like shit, but animals reciprocate kindness and are easier to understand.
