Football Transfer Thread

Made this it's own thread, all transfer talk in here.

The odds on Kevin Nolan to go to West Ham have dropped from 10/1 to 3/2 on after a flurry of bets this afternoon. Reportedly Newcastle turned down an offer for him earlier but watch this space.

To be fair, if Andy Carroll is worth £35,000,000, then Henderson probably is worth £20,000,000.

To put it in perspective; Man City, a team who perennially pay over the odds for players, payed only £4 million more for David Silva..

Yeah I think you will need to buy a copy of FIFA 12 to have any chance of Arsenal signing a decent player or winning anything next year :p

I have faith in Wenger still, although sometimes I can't explain why :p

There is a great team in there, nearly. I'd just add maybe a better anchor man than Song (perhaps the infreqiuently used Mascherano) and a decent centre back, or two decent centre backs if Vermaelaen will continue to be injured.

Arsenal need a goalkeeper (Don't kid yourself, Szezney isn't the answer), a decent centre half, perhaps one flexible defender, a midfielder to replace Cesc and a striker I think. Van Persie's good but tends to get injured every season, Chamakh and Bendtner clearly aren't good enough. Oh and errm....teach the players what winning mentality means.

I also already love Phil Jones, he was told that if he came here he'd be sat on the bench a lot to which he replied "At least I'll win trophies".

Can't argue there.
I've never been Van Persie's biggest fan, but he really won me over this season.

I might add one more recommendation to Wenger though, one rarely noticed, Arsenal need another prong in their attack. The Fabregas-Nasri-Van Persie triangle is one of the best in the league, but the final piece is always let down by Walcott, and the oft unreliable Arshavin.
If Arshavin regularly lived up to his ability, then a Fabregas-Nasri-Arshavin-Van Persie quadrant would be almost unplayable.
