If I got sent to my room I would grab a book or a toy and play.

Apparently sending a child to their room is a bad idea anyway because then the child associates their room with punishment, which leads them not wanting to go to sleep even more than normal!

Kids these days need an ass kicking. They don't need to get beat with belts or hangers or anything like that, but a swat on the ass isn't child abuse.

I read an article a few months ago...
The jest of it was a kid went nuts in class and chased everyone out of the classroom with scissors.
He then barricaded himself inside the classroom and threatened to shank everyone who came in.
An SRT responded and was trying to coax him out. They were negotiating with him to come out.
If I were the SRT Commander I would have shot tear gas in the room, and taken the kid by physical force.
Try putting your classroom scissors through Kevlar.
If it had been me? My parents would have stormed the classroom and beat my ass all the way home.

I was raised that parents word was the rules.. and if you didn't like it well you got a spanking.
Liam is defiant as hell but he will listen when I even threaten to spank him now.Well a good majority of the time.
If he won't behave I start taking things he likes away like I turn the TV off, I take his fave toy and put it away.. etc. It works too. but I do not let him get away with crap.
Kids now freak if they don't' get what they want and their parents give in... drives me nuts.
Liam freaks but he's 2 and he's not awesome with his words yet so he tires. I think he will settle better once he gets to be able to tell me what exactly he's feeling.
