ok if someone is in one country over 30 years and only can say very few words i can understand the frustration on some people.... you will think what they do so long ..but then again you can not expect everyone to learn one language in a year either .. not everyone can learn a language fast.... call that person stupid or slow learner or what ever .. but been rude that's a little too much...
I do understand at work places you do want someone with some good English or if not perfect good communication skills if it is around with people.. i agree with that 100%
but did anyone actually ever thought why some people dont speak a lot from the start?
i can give some example of myself .. people don't take me serious dont want to talk to me a lot before even know me good or don't give any chance and judge so fast just because i may not speak like them .i been even not let in in a place for that so before why some people talk their language more or hang more with people from their countries maybe a part have to do with that also .. and maybe they try less..
yes some are rude also go to a country and do not try
but some do try and still get the same
My point was if someone is here for a short time and tries to learn the language good for them.
I believe if you are in a country for several years you should learn some of the language.
Here I know some people who speak English well enough to get by but when it is convenient for them they act as though they do not understand the language. That is not stupid that is dishonest.
and agree you have to learn even a little not for anyone but yourself
but i don't think many act like they do not understand the language
just very few maybe..
My nephew is dating a girl from Mexico. They were in a Mexican restaurant and she overheard two of the waiters speaking in Spanish make a comment about her figure. She smiled and proceeded to tell them in Spanish they should be more careful what they say because some other people speak Spanish too.:24::24::24:
Only enough to get in trouble. Same with Espaniol & Francois.:jk
Fred, what is Francois ?
Sorry very heard that term before ?
Français yes, François is usually the hair dresser that speaks Français..![]()
It was intended as a joke.:24::24:
Espanol or Spanish & French are actually correct.
To become a citizen here I think it should be required that you learn the language.
I get pretty irate when I call customer service for something and someone who barely speaks English picks up, that is just totally uncalled for and an insult to your customers to have make them deal with that.
One of my pet peeves is having to accommodate other languages instead of them learning English. Spanish seems to have become as accepted as English which I do not understand. I may be wrong but I thought years ago a workable understanding of English was required to become a citizen. I believe learning to speak English was a point of pride when America was still considered "The Melting Pot".
Well i can recall myself being rude to quite a lotta ppl.....but tha waz only fr a reasonable reason.
I never be rude 2 ppl jus bcz they cant speak english or r slow in understanding watever..... but yes if they hav an attitude n show sum darn disrespect. I DO! =D
