I've never had one. I almost needed one after I gave birth because I was very anaemic and losing a lot of blood but they did a blood test and I guess it was ok. They never came mentioned it again (though they did give me lots of iron pills) and I was discharged the next day.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

well the good news is i dont need a blood transfusion....my hemoglobin is ok. however my blood sugar and pressure are still low. the dr told me that now i need to do an adrenal blood test at 8am in the morning. this sucks!!!! i hate not feeling well and hate even worse going to the doctor!

Although you didnt have to have a blood transfusion i used to work in the blood bank, I can tell you that any transfusion reaction is rare and even a minor one is taken very seriously. The cross matching done on blood these days is very strict and accurate!

satin no fluids per IV but have told me to make sure that I am drinking fluids, which i am

i am seriously considering having one of the guys at work hook me up to an iv and flush about 1000 cc into me

Yup it can

I have elevated levels

I test negative for the main thing suspected

I have had a reduction in the levels the last while.

It depends upon what the problem is but can stress can be a factor.

Also make sure your hands are warm if they are taking a finger prick. That can effect the test result

when i test my blood sugar i always "milk" my finger first. it makes it soooooo much easier to get it out
