Lack of respect

I feel the same. I get sick of hearing people talking loud outside my patio door and front door, and off hearing the bass booming in cars passing by. Never mind I stay up til 2 or 3 most days; I know several neighbors are out the door by 6.

My neighbor bitches that I'm supposedly too loud at night... I live in a duplex and we share a wall. Yet her son comes in at all times at night with an incredibly loud truck, and they both work on cars until 10-11pm and as early as 7am. There have been days when they work on their cars all day from 7am-11pm. Yet... she pounds on the wall if I'm peeing or brushing my teeth at midnight. She even called my property management company and found my dad at his work to complain. >.> My dad told her off though. :D

When the people upstairs are really loud and distress Riley, I face the ceiling and yell "quiet." I think it's working, actually.

Hell, I do it when Riley isn't even paying attention to them. I just make sure she knows I'm not directing it at her.

I'm used to living in a big house with my family, so although our neighbours is very close to us and we can sometimes hear them at night clunking around, it just sounds normal to me. In fact sometimes I get worried that people are in our house, until I remember that I'm in a much smaller home now :p

My apartment isn't super soundproof either so on my nights off I try to keep in mind that others sleep at night even though I don't. If, by some strange miracle, the Flames make the playoffs and score a winner in triple overtime at 1 am, all bets are off and I'm whooping. I don't care who's sleeping. :ninja

Just out of curiousity, does anyone consider doing laundry (when people are sleeping) disruptive?

I've started a load at 9 before, but only because I can barely hear the machines above me if I'm in the laundry area, and not at all if I move ten feet away or go to the bedroom.
