Awww.....I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It must really be hard :(

I've lost to old age a great Pyrenees dog named Bambi a few years back . And with a family situation, I had to let 2 British short haired cats be adopted by a friend. It's a sad day just like you're feeling now sad-smileys-emoticons268.gif

That bond becomes stronger as we consider our pets part of our family and they become part of our everyday life. We grow together. They're just not animals but like a friend too who's always there for us . I truly know how you feel. *hugs* smiley_hug2.gif

Thank you sweetie, and I am sorry that you lost Bambi too..

My pets are my life, since some of my children don't live near me, and the one that does, is always busy with job, family and other obligations, so I don't get to see her or my granddaughters often. :(

I inherited two of my cats from my youngest daughter, one when she went through her divorce, and the other when she had her son so at least I got to have part of her with me..

Offtopic: I love your collection of smileys. I know u did mention having a bunch. Now I see you're using them.. I am looking forward for more :D:thumbup
You can go off topic any time you want..

I think my collection must be over than 2000 by now...
The owner of the first forum where I was a mod gave me the title of "Smiley Queen" and I was hooked on them forever...

I really should take the time to organize them better... I get lost trying to find the ones I want to use!..

i don't know why one can't remember his pets will die somedays once they are with him, i feel pretty sad that willow had to wake up in a shocking moment that one of her cats just died.....

I sense negativism in this post and correct me if I am wrong...
...Please give respect to Willow given this is her thread about her feelings of a loss...
... I am just trying to prevent another stir just in case you planned to have another after you've already apologized to Willow initially ....
:surrender:surrender:surrender:surrender:surrender.... :D

Okay you guys, calm down a little...

PurpleDove... Thank you for coming to my defense, but I think he is just having some difficulty expressing his thoughts with the correct words, and this time he didn't upset me...

Terrible... si10.gif
I think I understand what you are trying to say, and I will try to explain how I feel, since I can't talk for other people..

For the last 30 years, I have been working with, adopting and rescuing all kinds of small animals like cats, dogs rabbits, birds, mice, gerbils, rats, snakes and other reptiles... you name them... I've had them.. :D

When I adopt or rescue an animal, I know they will leave me one day.. Most of them have come from places where they were neglected, mistreated or abused, sometimes in horrible ways.. and some of them are near the end of their lives..

Once they are with me, they learn that I will only give them all my love, and will take care of them for the rest of their life.. Eventually, they realize that my home is a very safe haven for them, and accept me and love me back..
This process can take a long time, as it is with some of the parrots I've adopted.. Some of them bit me ...to the point of me needing stitches... until the day they died..
And others realized almost immediately that I was there to rescue them and they were safe with me..

Those, and the ones I handfeed from birth, are the ones that I get really attached to, and miss the most when they die...

As for the second part of your comment, I will tell you that I am feeling better today, because I was finally able to bury my cat yesterday, after the heavy rain stopped.. and now I know she is resting in the place I have for all the animals that were here with her for years..

Now it's time for me to go and feed some of them, so I will see you all a little later...
Hope everyone behaves while I'm working.. 80910b10.png

I hope you don't have to go through this any time soon, but unfortunately, it is something that will happen to everyone eventually..

i hope you go to heaven, care for animals is greatly appreciated in my relegion, i hope you feel better, it is after all, a good feeling you had this pet go away under your arms, you took care of it, and it had a great life, i had my own cat died not too close to me, well, i feel terrible.... very very bad, i diden't knew how to take care of it, i bought a baby milk bottle and learnt how to make milk and gave it to it, then somedays later it was just dead, appearently a disaese but i diden't notice any changes, i hope this animal now rests in god's hands, my cat was a little young, she was coloured darkly white and some gray, but i still feel bad for it, i will take full responsbillity when god asks me about the little creature:(

i choose my nickname because i usually beat my friends in online games, seldom losing, unless if its a smarter foe.

Okay you guys, calm down a little... and listen to "GeekyGrannie"..
~ Purple: does that name ring a bell with you??.. ;) ~

I was reading old threads yesterday, and found some familiar names from a place I used to visit... like "Valley"... "Mulder"... I wasn't a big poster there.. more of a lurker...
I am still trying to figure out who you were there, though... :D

PurpleDove... Thank you for coming to my defense, but I think he is just having some difficulty expressing his thoughts with the correct words, and this time he didn't upset me...

No worries ;) and it's good to know that he didn't upset you this time :D

Sorry to blow your bubble, Willow :p I've never been at any forums b4, OTz is my training ground

My Bad with my response on Terrible's post. I guess, i didnt see his trouble expressing himself in that thread.... about Nazi's and as quoted below too and observed by Guyzerr :p

by the way, if japan was an oppressive regime then why did evrey single japanese warrior went to defend his homeland, his honour and his country...... look at those kamikazes, undertrained pilots flying biplanes and old bombers in a desprate bid to save their country and honour

A couple of things.....
#2 How is it possible that your English has sharpened up so much since you signed up a couple of days ago. I much rather it go back to the way it was initially. At least then I have a reason not to read your posts... which btw I don't ever finish.

But i respect your wishes 'GeekyGrannie' ;) I shall shushhhhh up now f49f2d98.gif

Now it's time for me to go and feed some of them, so I will see you all a little later...

She is gorgeous!.. 7558810.gif

Tel me more about her.. :)

Thank you. She's a pommeranian and she'll be 6 in June of this year. I bought her from a breeder before she was born and picked her out when she was just a few days old, she was the chubbier of the bunch..lol. When she was 2 I found out that she had epilipsy, the hard way, I almost lost her. She's strong, thank God, and in spite of what she's been through, she's here. I have her on two medications daily now and it's been about a month since her last seizure. It seems like every couple of years or so she has an episode that's very hard on her little system. The vet has increased her meds since her first seizure to almost double, but to her that only means she's taking 21/2 pills twice a day now and .5mls of her potassium.
The vet has given me a lot of hope, I guess her size is to her benefit because apparently the bigger the dog, the more severe this disease can be for them. Lucy is like my baby as I've mentioned earlier, we love her and we'll continue to make her as comfortable and as happy as possible until the day she's taken away from us,which is long into the future, I hope. Most pomms can live until they're 18 or older, I'm told but with Lucy, who knows, she may live longer...lol She's stubborn like that.
She can hear a leaf blow down the street from inside the house..and she's not afraid of anything, but birds....lol.she barks at them when they're in flight but if they land she takes off like a bat outta hell..lol. Every few months I send her to the groomer, where she gets the full treament, a bath, haircut, nails....etc etc. She loves being pampered, just like me...lol. anyway, that's my Lucy. Here's another pic....

I could tell from the first picture that she was a Pom.. never had one, but love them anyway..
Epilepsy is fairly common in some breeds of dogs, especially the larger ones.
I had a Doberman that had it, and the first time she had a seizure it was very hard to watch, but eventually I got used to that..
She lived to almost fourteen, which is a very long life for Dobbies, as they usually live to nine or ten..
I still miss her after many years.. :(

It scares the life out of me when she has a seizure, but I hold her until it's over, and then she paces the floor for about an hour and eats like a horse...lol. They don't happen as much as they used to, thank goodness, so I'm taking that to mean that the meds are working and she'll be with me for a long time to come. I' sorry about your little Dobbie....you must have loved her a lot.:)

Glad to see that she doesn't have many.. :thumbup
Isn't funny to see how much they eat after one?.. Does she recognize you?.
Natasha would act like she never saw me before in her life, but then she would be the happiest girl and tried to cuddle on my lap... the problem was, that as far as a female Doberman goes.. she was HUGE!!!... She was bigger than a male, and at one point she weighed about 125 lbs!.. :eek

... And yes, I loved her to pieces.. ♥

Yes, she does act as if she doesn't recognize me or anything around her actually. At first I thought she was blind...then I realized that she would walk around things instead of walking into them so I knew that she wasn't. When all is said and done, she's done pacing and eating, she cuddles up to me on my bed like she's just had a nightmare....it's almost as if she just can't get close enough to me. Lucy is only 11 pounds so that's a big difference.....I don't know if I'll be able to stand it if anything should ever happen to her... I know that she won't be with me forever, but just the thought of losing her scares me. I'd miss her so much.
