It's Going To Be A Rough Night...

No damage on the yard except for a bunch of small branches and a gazillion pine cones so I'll have to give the driveway a good blowjob again. We did loose two trees that are in the middle of a grove in one of the pastures. They were bigger around than telephone poles and they snapped off about 30 or 40 feet off the ground. They were dead so no real harm done.

The wind got pretty stoked about 9 am and by 11 it was haulin' ass like I've never seen before. The major part died down before 2 pm and all that was left was a real downpour which made sense cuz I had to leave the building and go somewhere for some work related stuff. Nothing like gettin' soaked to the bone just before I get off work. I heard on the news that lots of folks are without power but for once we didn't. :thumbup On the drive home I did see a bunch of fallen trees and the remnants of some that had hit on the road but someone has stepped up to the plate and got 'em off the road and into the ditch. :clap
I am glad that there wasn't any bad damage!

Good to know nothing serious happened! I can't imagine living somewhere where storms are part of life.
We don't get those very often thank goodness but that's one negative thing about living near any ocean. The ones I feel sorry for are the folks that have to endure hurricanes. I just couldn't imagine having to live through one of them. If I did I'd be off like a raped ape once they gave the evacuation order.

I have lived through one.. I don't want to do it again.. And I cannot imagine if it were worse than ours was.. I know ours was mild compared to the ones that happen down south.:surrender
